THE SUNDAY GRUDGE

I got to thinking yesterday about the difference between Republican First Ladies and Democrat First Ladies.

On one side you have Nancy Reagan,Barbara Bush and Laura Bush.On the other are Hillary Clinton and Michelle Obama.Republican First Ladies have grace, dignity, and are content to let their husbands get the publicity. All chose to put home and family ahead of personal ambitions.

In Clinton and Obama you have ambition-driven,selfish,power-hungry women who I am convinced stay with their husbands to share the power and the riches. They do not accept as valid anyone who does not think exactly as they do.I think their fake smiles betray a soul full of want, never satisfied with what they have and always craving more.It is not possible to find true peace without a faith in God and a servant’s heart. That is something the two of them will never achieve.

Whatchawannabet that if (when!) Republicans take back the Oval, all of the Democrats’ born again Respect For The Office of The President will disappear as fast as frost on a sunny day? Nobody wants to take that action? Gee. I wonder why ever not. 😉

Oh for goodness sake … Obama ran against BUSH’s record and Bush wasn’t even running. How dare he try to run on his Hopey Changey BS as if we haven’t all seen it for the bankrupt future it is!

“In 1980, it was all about Carter’s record of double digit interest rates, high inflation, and growing unemployment. Carter got trounced by Ronald Reagan.”

“In 1984, Ronald Reagan asked, “Are you better off now than you were four years ago?” Translation: “This election is about my record.” Reagan was reelected in a historic landslide based on that record.”

I love what Dana Loesch said about fighting their “war on women” bs … “My husband can’t hit a woman, but I can!” I heard a black leader say essentially the same thing about the Dem’s race bs.

  12. I think you hit the nail on the head, Pete. I was just thinking about this the other day when I looked at the Obama’s tax return. Michelle’s occupation is listed as “First Lady.” Really?? I mean, I know there’s probably a lot involved in being First Lady, but is that actually an occupation? Does she collect a salary for that? Should I put military spouse on my return? I’ve certainly specialized in it more so than she has in being First Lady.

It also reminds me of a military tradition, wherein some aviators will get their wives a miniature flight wing pendant to give to them at their winging ceremony as a gift for their support and encouragement through the training proccess. It’s a nice gesture, but when hubby asked me about it, I told him I absolutely did NOT want one, because it wasn’t my accomplishment. The day that I earn my wings, I’ll get a pair (no pun intended).

          • Thank you! Happy Easter to you, too! It was particularly special this year, because I was going through the RCIA process, which is why I went all hard-core. (I did have a few weak moments!) I’m not sure I would do that again. Maybe next year I’ll just give up fried foods or something.

I was able to get a few things done around the house and I’ve finally filed my taxes. (It’s a busy year!) I have officially decided that no matter what any financial expert says (and math has always been my forté) getting money back from the gov’t is better than owing money. After sifting through all the paperwork and doing all the work, I need a reward at the end. And, for me, the bigger the reward, the better! The psychology is just as important as the numbers.
