Understanding Real Women

Unlike Ann Romney, Michelle Obama HAD to work! I can totally see how Michelle would know way more about the economic struggles of real women than Ann with her 3 babies while she and Mitt were still in school. NOT.

I still remember when Hillary made the “I could have stayed home and baked cookies” crack. At the time, I was the young stay at home mom and I really resented her putting me down. I have never liked her since. I hope that by bringing up the disdain liberal women have for mom’s who give up careers for their family will backfire again. I know it turned many of my generation away. I hope today’s young moms will do the same.

    • I remember that wisecrack of Hillary’s too — it really stung. I don’t have a problem with other women making different life choices than mine, but it frosts me when they get all smug and superior about it. I’ve been putting up with this $h!t for almost 35 years. Will they ever learn? You don’t get women to vote for you by denigrating them!

My husband and I have never had an annual income anywhere near that of an Illinois state senator, but somehow we managed to do all right — and with twice as many kids and half as many incomes as Barack Hussein and Michelle-my-belle had at that point in their lives. If they honestly think families can’t get by on that kind of money, then they are even more out of touch than I gave them credit for.

It takes a special kind of out of touch to say to a group of Iowa farmers, “Anybody gone into Whole Foods lately and see what they charge for arugula?” There is no Whole Foods in Iowa. And arugula is a snob food.

  2. A very compelling argument is undermined by the fact that is is not true. Illinois paid lawmakers $57,619.00/year or $125/per session day as of 2007.

Unlike Ann Romney and her husband, Michelle Obama and her husband relied upon work for their income. Work versus wealth is what this class warfare is all about and it is not the 99 percent who started it… That honor belongs to Ronald Reagan, who set America on a course for unemployment, inequality and massive debt.
