I have mixed emotions about this story. As a breast cancer survivor, I have done a lot of research on these drugs. At most, they give people false hope, while using them as guinea pigs for drugs that are ridiculously over priced (thousands a dose!). What is worse, these drugs often end up in people dying sooner from the side effects.Too many of these drugs have been pushed out and later to be proven useless. I understand this women’s anguish, but sadly, she is not being told the truth. There are other possibilities besides drugs!
Meanwhile, the oncology business tells people drugs are the only solution. Even Stage 4 cancers can be controlled, much like other chronic diseases, and sometimes even cured, with all kinds of alternatives, everything from specific herbs, to baking soda. Yes, baking soda can kill cancer! But none of these options are considered, even though they are cheaper, because they have not undergone clinical trials, and they never get accepted for these trials because they would cost the cancer industry billions.
The current standard of care is killing people. I know one thing, I would never succumb to any standard of care treatment ever again. The body has an incredible ability to heal itself. The trick is finding the weapons that will work with our own chemistry. Sadly, little research is being done this way.

Didn’t Carter abandon the Shah because of his not-so-hot human rights record, and so they ended up with the ayatollahs in charge? Big improvement — like Russia getting rid of the czars and trading them in for the bolsheviks. (Lesson of history: Beware of EVER saying “it can’t get any worse.” It can.)

I have two adorable, loving nieces with DS. The youngest always keeps us laughing. They have taught their cousins to be tolerant, protective, and caring. What a blessing they have been to our family.

For a brief time, we had the Best Babysitter In The World. She was amazing. One time, after she’d done another Super Sitter thing, I asked her why she was so caring and giving. She said, “My sister has Downs.” Later, I talked to the mom of 4, one severely retarded. She said her other kids had all chosen caring professions, like nursing, which she attributed to having Billy for a brother.
