WHERE’S GEORGE W. BUSH?HOW A TWO-TERM PRESIDENT HAS BECOME THE QUIET MAN OF POLITICS
It’s not so hard to understand once you realize most non-liberals are content being who they are, holding fast to God and family and don’t feel the need to be the center of attention. They do what they felt they were called to do then go home and get on with their lives. They don’t need a fawning press constantly telling how good and how smart they are. They don’t obsess over how much they have and how they can get somebody to give them more. They cherish an inner peace that those who are wanton in spirit will never know.

Oh my, those Euros sure love to bash bush and they just won’t quit. Of course, they never got one sentence of good reporting about Bush during his admin, so why should they start now?
The way people were led by the media to hate Bush was nauseating.
But I do blame Bush for one thing.
He never defended himself.
His own arrogance felt he was above that, and this was his biggest mistake. By remaining silent, he let all the rumors flourish.
I can understand that he wants to be below the radar now. But I hope after the election, he comes out and defends his policies.
We deserve it.

Thats why I could never be president-suffering in silence is not one of my strong suits,as you may have guessed.

That isn’t true, GP. He DID defend himself, but it mostly did not get reported! Just look at one instance … the “Mission Accomplished” speech. Remember that sign behind him? Remember how his speech got hooked to that sign, which had NOTHING to do with his speech? (It was about the crew of the ship coming home from a long tour at sea.) I read the actual speech. He explained himself very clearly. The Left just ignored it.

The first ad was really poignant. They really are a beautiful couple, and you can tell their love is real. How refreshing after watching the two current Occuppooers in the White House pretend.
That said, I would love to know what Mrs. Romney is doing for her MS. I have seen people suffer from this disease and then have amazing turns for the better with nutrition and supplements, specifically high doses of Vit C and D. I wonder if she is following this protocol as she is looking well. If so, I hope she will speak about it more.
Nothing upsets me more than Republican leaders who do not embrace a holistic approach to health. The radicals have taken over every health orientated movement and used it to fund their liberal causes. From the Weather Channel, to the Sierra Club, to the Organic Consumers org., the likes of Soros have taken the reigns and the GOP scoffs at them, rather than expose the truth.
We can be healthier without drugs. We must stop corporations like Monsanto and GE that produce products that are destroying our health. It is time the GOP stop supporting them get over their apathy towards holistic health.
I am praying Ann Romney will take the lead here, and change this. The way to bring down the costs of healthcare, is to get people to take control of their health in the first place.

From what I’ve read, Ann has taken a holistic approach to her MS and has described her self-designed treatment plan. I’m sure you can find the info.

Get health under control-check.
Get the media under control-double check.
Get people out of the homes and into govt. run tenants. check
Get small businesses out by regulating them to death. check
etc etc etc
The last man standing will be Big Brother.
The Tea Party movement must prevail if we are to survive.

I gave up drinking all this crap years ago, and never felt better in my life.
But I will never support any legislation to outlaw it, or any other junk food. Nor do I support the sin taxes, such as the new $1 per pack on cigarettes sold in IL.
It is true, that we are all paying for the higher health costs for people who do not take care of themselves. But I figure that people who use this stuff will die sooner, saving us money in the long run.lol
We should be focusing on education, not legislation.
I think the “smoking stinks” campaign had a positive impact on my generation. We tossed the smokes (okay, some of my generation turned to the weedy stuff), and as a result, adults who smoke today are at the lowest levels in history.
We need to a campaign that “Soda makes you go POP” or something. lol
Make this stuff seem uncool, and kids will stop drinking it.
How does Bloomie get away with calling himself a republican?

I’m with you, GP — I gave up junk food myself decades ago — but what people eat and drink (or smoke, for that matter) is none of the government’s damn business. Nanny Bloomberg makes me sicker than eating too much junk food ever did.
This is like what’s happening in public schools — having failed to teach children to read, write, spell, and do arithmetic, they are concentrating their efforts on sex education and leftist brainwashing. Meanwhile, government, having failed to balance budgets or do what’s necessary to get the economy moving again so people can get jobs and support their families, is telling people what they can and can’t eat and drink and how much salt they can put on their food.

Teachers have no time to teach the three R’s anymore, because they are too busy teaching mandated crap coming from the Dept of Ed in order to get funding.
Meanwhile, they are cutting health and physical education, and even recess, to make time to promote this propaganda. And since it does not get covered in the classroom, kids are loaded down with homework projects that are destroying family time.
Something has to change.
Indoctrination has got to stop.

I think the whole public school system should be privatized, and everyone higher than the local school board should be fired — no more state departments of education, no more federal department of education. We’d save bazillions of dollars, the schools would certainly not be doing any worse than they are now, and most of them would improve. We could even afford to give raises to the teachers who deserve them, without raising taxes. Those massive buildings in Washington DC that currently house the offices of the Dept. of Education could be sold to the highest bidder, and the money used to give DOE employees early retirement.

I think a voucher system is a good start, but to make it all private just will not work. DC would still be the overlords and there would be layers of bureacrats to go through in order to get funding. Same if it was state distributed vouchers. Wheneve they hold the purse strings, they keep control And we could not have a totally local system because small towns would never have the money to run schools.
In any case, there needs to be some serious overhaul, and more control given to local school boards.

And yet at one time there were no public schools in the United States, and somehow we got along fine without them. Getting government out of the schools won’t solve all our educational woes, but I’m about 100% sure that nothing will get solved until we do get government out of them.

The teachers opposed the unions demands, because it would result in lay-offs.

NC DEM CHARGE OF ‘WAR ON WOMEN’ BRINGS ANGRY REBUFF
State House legislators were debating the budget written by Republican leaders. One provision diverted funding for family planning from private providers to local public health departments. Democrats claimed it was an attempt to block any more state funds from going to Planned Parenthood. An amendment was offered by Democrats to take that provision out of the budget. Representative Jennifer Weiss (D-Wake) called it a continuation of the the Republicans’ “war on women.” That brought an angry rebuff from Rep. John Blust (R-Guilford):
