Right now I’m in the midst of a flame war on Facebook with some leftist ideologue who thinks I’m a bad Christian/possibly not a Christian at all because I oppose big government and the welfare state. Every time I cite any fact in support of my position, he dismisses it with “Well, that’s just your opinion” or “You must get your information from far right wing news sources” or (my favorite) “Why do you hate poor people?” So yeah — if you want to make a liberal angry, tell him the truth… and then stand well back, because if you did it right, his head is liable to explode.

::wonderingwhathappensthen:: This presents an interesting physics problem. What’s in a liberal’s head? Where would the explosion originate? In what direction would the blast expand? How far would the shrapnel travel? Would there be a lot of blood or are they stupid because of depleted oxygen from low blood flow to the brain? Do they have brains?

The “You must get your info from right wing sources” is the one that pisses me off the most. It’s ignorantly presumptuous. It’s implicitly dismissive of your point, which he’s unwilling to address at all. To use that statement, I think one’s brain must have already exploded. Perhaps the cranium just contained the blast and no one noticed?

Maybe there’s a kind of bacteria like MRSA or virus like Ebola that only consumes brain tissue. This throws new light on my physics problem … what if the insides are a gloppy liquid?
