DEMOCRAT THEATER OF THE ABSURD: From William Jacobson at Legal Insurrection – House Democrats not getting their way is not a constitutional crisis. At some point the issue will land in court, and a court will determine whether the Executive Branch properly is withholding the material. Then more judges will rule on the appeal, and it will end up at the Supreme Court, in all likelihood.
If the Supreme Court rules that the material must be turned over, and if the administration defies that court ruling, then we have a crisis. I’m not sure it’s technically a constitutional crisis, because the constitution does not provide for judicial supremacy. But the norm since Marbury v. Madison in 1803 is that the judiciary’s interpretation of the law prevails.
ENDING NATIONWIDE INJUNCTIONS: The Trump administration wants to curtail the ability of a single judge to issue a nationwide injunction. Vice President Mike Pence said: “It’s remarkable to think a Supreme Court justice has to convince four of their colleagues to uphold an injunction, but a single district court judge can issue one, effectively preventing the duly elected president of the United States from fulfilling what he believes is a constitutional duty.”

COLORADO: The two perps in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, & Math) School Highlands Ranch shooting have been identified.
One is 16-year-old Maya “Alec” McKinney, a gender-confused girl who claims to be transitioning from female to male. The other is 18-year-old Devon Erickson, who has a history of anti-Trump and anti-Christian social media posting.
Their shooting spree was stopped by 18-year-old Brendan Bialy, a U.S. Marine Corps recruit, and 18-year-old Kendrick Castillo (photo), who gave his life to tackle one of the shooters.
FLORIDA: Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has signed legislation allowing armed teachers on school grounds in the Sunshine State. The measure was one of several recommendations that came out of a panel authorized after the horrific shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.
ILLINOIS: They haven’t been taking care of their roads – A proposal to raise the money needed for overdue road repairs includes doubling the state’s gas tax to 44 cents a gallon, raising the annual registration fee for standard vehicles from $98 to $148, and raising the annual registration fee for electric vehicles from $17.50 to … wait for it … $1,000.

Do you realize that I left work early to come here after school to talk to my son’s teachers about his report card, and you are literally the only teacher I have found?!!! I went from classroom to classroom and everyone is gone!!! Do you know what time it is?!! It’s 3:45 pm! School ended fifteen minutes ago!!! Fifteen minutes!!!! And you’re the only teacher still here!!!! Can you explain to me why everyone is gone?! Can you explain why every teacher has left the building when school just ended?!!!!” I paused, waiting to see if there was more. When I realized he had finished, I said, “All the teachers are in the library. We’re having a faculty meeting.” His face was priceless.

Had a thought … kids intuit grammar. For example, they’ll make grammatically correct mistakes like “I am being haved!” Maybe the problem with four is that they hear “for” and one two three for five makes no sense grammatically.

Don’t have a link, but an A♠ commenter said the gender-confused shooter in Colorado has an illegal immigrant violent felon daddy (absent). Commenter added, these shooters were like the nexus of everything wrong with the Left today — if you made them up, people would think you were adding too many over-the-top tropes, like with Smollett’s story. (“MAGA Country” really sunk that one.)
