TOLERANCE: It puts people into a state of moral suspension –

“We need to remember that tolerance is not a Christian virtue. Charity, justice, mercy, prudence, honesty — these are Christian virtues. And obviously, in a diverse community, tolerance is an important working principle. But it’s never an end itself. In fact, tolerating grave evil within a society is itself a form of serious evil. Likewise, democratic pluralism does not mean that Catholics should be quiet in public about serious moral issues because of some misguided sense of good manners. A healthy democracy requires vigorous moral debate to survive. Real pluralism demands that people of strong beliefs will advance their convictions in the public square — peacefully, legally and respectfully, but energetically and without embarrassment. Anything less is bad citizenship and a form of theft from the public conversation.” – Archbishop Chaput

CLIMATE: There is NO consensus among scientists supporting the political narrative behind climate activismScientists at NASA have known since 1958 that our solar orbit is the main factor behind changes in our climate over the past 1,000 years, NOT our use of fossil fuels.

Recently, 500 scientists, engineers and others from 23 countries signed a letter stating their belief that “There is no climate emergency.”

The letter urges the United Nations “to follow a climate policy based on sound science, realistic economics and genuine concern for those harmed by costly but unnecessary attempts at mitigation.

Current climate policies pointlessly and grievously undermine the economic system, putting lives at risk in countries denied access to affordable, reliable electrical energy.”

GUNS: Last month, San Francisco’s Board of Supervisors passed a resolution declaring the National Rifle Association a domestic terrorist organization and ordered city employees to “take every reasonable step to limit” business interactions with the NRA and its supporters.

David French labeled this “a retaliatory public attack on constitutionally protected speech.” And the NRA sued. The NRA is challenging a similar law passed by the Los Angeles city council requiring city contractors to disclose any ties they have to the gun-rights group. Back in August, a federal judge denied a request by the city to dismiss the suit.

UPDATE: San Francisco has backed down. In a formal memo to city officials, San Francisco mayor London Breed declared that “no [municipal] department will take steps to restrict any contractor from doing business with the NRA or to restrict City contracting opportunities for any business that has any relationship with the NRA.”

GENDER: The City of Anchorage, Alaska, has dropped a complaint against a faith-based women’s shelter which refused to allow a biological male to stay overnight.

The man filed a complaint against Downtown Hope Shelter, and the city’s Equal Rights Commission joined the fight.

All Americans should be free to live out their faith and serve their neighbors—especially homeless women who have suffered sexual abuse or domestic violence—without being targeted or harassed by the government,” said Kate Anderson, senior counsel for Alliance Defending Freedom
