HONORING THE DEAD: Today is the Feast of All Souls, a day when we Catholics make a point of praying for the poor souls in Purgatory – i.e., a temporary state occupied by souls who have died in a state of grace, but who still need to purge themselves of the residual effects of their sins.
And while I believe that the doctrine of Purgatory speaks to God’s mercy, justice, and love for all souls, I do not believe that God gives anyone a catechism test at judgment, rewarding those who get every jot and tittle correct with eternal life and condemning anybody who gets even one thing wrong with eternal damnation.
But that doesn’t mean I don’t think doctrine doesn’t matter. Doctrine does matter, because it undergirds and drives behavior.
Case in point: If Purgatory is real, then there are souls there who need our prayers, prayers that non-Catholics are unlikely to offer up.
But what if Purgatory is not real? Are prayers ever wasted? Personally, I think God honors our intentions and applies the graces of our prayers where they are most needed.

IMPEACHMENT: The Democrats’ lunacy is luring in newly disgruntled Democrats, energizing the GOP base, and increasing the GOP’s already record-breaking coffers.

IMPEACHMENT: Democrats have apparently failed to completely control the leaks from its offensively opaque impeachment inquiry. Somebody let out this doozy from October 31:
A top National Security Council (NSC) official who listened to the July 25 phone call testified to Congress on Oct 31, “I want to be clear: I was not concerned that anything illegal was discussed. … I have no reason to believe the Ukrainians had any knowledge of the [military funding] review until August 28, 2019.”
Remember: The so-called whistleblower that Shifty Schiff has kept carefully closeted did NOT listen to the call himself.

GRAMMY NOTES: From Mama Buzz – “The homily for All Saints Mass was appropriately about how God calls us all to be Saints. Father reminded us that every saint has a past and every sinner has a future. He closed with, ‘Be all you can be! Be a saint!’ (He is an army priest after all LOL.)
“Also at Mass, Bootz blew me away. He opened to the song pages, pointed to the score and asked if that was a ‘la, la, la.’ I told him yes. While we sang, he ran his finger along the lines. He does that when we read together too. I know he can’t read the words yet, but he clearly knows not only what words are for, but also what music notation is!”
RUINED DISNEY SONGS: [6:56] – Watch AND listen to this one … the lyrics, sets, and choreography are really fun.
