AQUITTED: [3:38] – The House impeachment managers had a post-losing therapy session. Watch it if you can stomach it. I couldn’t.

DRAINING THE SWAMP: President Trump just cut 70 positions on his staff. Among those given the boot were Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, who testified against Trump during the impeachment inquiry, and his twin brother, Lt. Col. Yevgeny Vindman.

Trump said the former “was given a horrendous report by his superior, the man he reported to, who publicly stated that Vindman had problems with judgement, adhering to the chain of command and leaking information.”

2020_02 11 illegal crime

MEDIA: A New York Times op-ed writer said President Donald Trump’s State of the Union speech included “bogus” stories about crimes committed by immigrants.

A Department of Homeland Security spokeswoman responded by providing numerous examples of crimes committed by illegal aliens who had been released by authorities who refused to cooperate with ICE.

MEDIA: There’s a wonderful piece of snark by Jack Hellner at American Thinker called, “Things I have learned from genuine, honest journalists and other Democrats

As I have gotten older, I have been enlightened about so many things from honest, genuine, conscience-driven journalists and other Democrats.  Of course, to accept what I have learned, I had to check my common sense at the door.”

2020_02 11 Exploiting women

ERA: Catholic social teaching, and recent popes, speak very clearly and strongly about the equality of men and women based upon their equal dignity as children of God. And the Church recognizes the need to do more to address unjust inequities between women and men.

However, the ERA in its current form poses very serious consequences, including likely requiring federal funding for abortions, and overturning pro-life and conscience protection laws.

Because of these serious consequences, the Bishops are urging members to oppose the ERA in its current form, and to vote “no” on H.J. Res. 79. Please join the bishops and contact your member today!

More information about the ERA and its consequences is presented in this fact sheet.

2020_02 11 vandalism

VANDALISM: Freedom of speech justifies neither suppressing the speech of others nor the destruction of their property For the second time in three months, pro-life ads have been vandalized with spray paint in South Bend, Indiana. The bench ads promoted life-affirming resources such as Abortion Pill Reversal and Women’s Care Center, a local pregnancy help center.

CLIMATE: In 1932, droughts, floods, extreme temperatures, wildfires, and storms killed more than 5 million human beings world-wide. Since then, we have massively increased our use of fossil fuels which, according to climate catastrophists, should mean that the number of climate-related deaths is also increasing.

The exact opposite is true.

The global climate system is naturally volatile and dangerous; thanks to development and technology, we have made everyone much safer. Since 1932, the human population has increased dramatically, yet the number of climate-related deaths has dropped by more than 99%.

In 2018, the total number of climate-related deaths on planet Earth was a mere 5,000.

RECYCLING: An enterprising young man in Cameroon turns plastic bottles into inexpensive boats. So far, he has built over 37 boats, a project that has removed more than 24,000 bottles from Douala’s rivers. He is also using the bottles to build bins for collecting more bottles.

CATHOLICISM: [12:09]Fr. Mike explains why Scripture, the Magisterium, and Tradition are not opposing authorities battling for power.

2020_02 11 pig dog

GRAMMY NOTES: This stupid “pig dog” photo utterly defeated me. All these other people were saying, “Oh, now I see the dog.” I couldn’t see it until a friend turned the image and cropped it for me. And even though I do finally see the dog, I still mostly see the pig dog LOL.

  1. Maybe because we used to have a chihuahua, or maybe just because of the inset pix, I didn’t see anything but the dog – and wondered for a moment why you were posting it! 🙂 Cut dog, but, that’s one ugly pig.
