AMERICA’S TOP YOUNG SCIENTIST: Heman Bekele (14) is a ninth grader from Annandale, Virginia. He won the prestigious 3M and Discovery Education award in the middle school science competitions for his soap that treats skin cancer. The bar of soap costs about $.50 to make.

The second place winner was Shripriya Kalbhavi, a 9th grader from San Jose, CA, who invented a cost-effective microneedle patch that allows for self-automated drug delivery without pills or needles.

The third place winner was Sarah Wang, a 7th grader at The Pike School in Andover, MA. Sarah developed the Spring Epilepsy Detection Glove, a glove that can detect tonic-clonic and myoclonic epileptic seizures with common hand movements and tracks seizure statistics through a smart phone application.

The fourth through tenth place winners were Anisha Dhoot, Ishaan Iyer, Sean Jiang, Annie Katz, Anish Kosaraju, Adhip Maitra, and Shruti Sivaraman. I think I see a theme here….

ABOLISHING GOD: In the UK, a Christian pastor from South Wales has been arrested and may face jail time for holding up a sign with a Bible verse on it outside an abortion clinic in London.

In Canada, the Minister of National Defence has instructed military chaplains not to use “God” during public prayers.

CALIFORNICATION: Ever since Gov. Newsom signed the misnamed Safer Streets for All Act into law, California’s streets have become even worse than ever. Prostitutes, some barely out of their teens, walk around in broad daylight, barely clothed, because the new laws make it nearly impossible for cops to get them off the streets.

COVID-19: A study entitled “Effects of tea, catechins and catechin derivatives on Omicron subvariants of SARS-CoV-2” was published on October 3, 2023, in Scientific Reports. In it, Japanese resarchers at Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine report how they learned that drinking green tea, matcha, and black tea or sucking on candy containing one of these substances can effectively inactivate certain Omicron subvariants in the saliva of infected individuals, including asymptomatic carriers.

The COVID-19 virus primarily spreads through saliva, which is released when talking, sneezing, or coughing, forming droplets and aerosols that disperse into the air. Inactivating the virus in saliva is crucial for preventing COVID-19. It is believed that the polyphenols in tea can bind to the spike protein of the virus, preventing it from infecting cells.

GEORGIA: In the 6-1 decision, the state’s supreme court has upheld the constitutionality of the Living Infants Fairness and Equality (LIFE) Act. This is one of the so-called heartbeat laws that bans abortion once the unborn have a “detectable human heartbeat,” which usually begins around six weeks of gestation. At this point, the fetus’ rudimentary heart is beating around 160 times a minute. Its arms and legs are like tiny paddles that will lengthen and grow into limbs. Its eyes, ears, nostrils, mouth, tongue, and vocal cords are also beginning to develop.

N.b., “gestation” refers to the time since conception, which is generally about 2 weeks longer than “pregnant.” The latter is measured by the time since the first day of the last menstrual period (LMP). In women who have regular cycles, ovulation occurs about 14 days after LMP with conception occurring withing 24 hours or so, after which the egg is no longer viable. Most women have no idea they’re pregnant until they are 2 or more weeks into gestation, allowing only a very narrow window for aborting.

GLAMOUR: The magazine’s all-female honorees included actresses Millie Bobby Brown, America Ferrera, Ariana DeBose, Lily Allen, and Hannah Waddingham; singers Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Halle Bailey, and Olivia Dean; influencer Fats Timbo, reality star Georgia Harrison, and a group of female soccer players.

ILLINOIS: Billionaire, Democrat, and Global Elite Progressive, Governor J.B. Pritzker, announced that he has created a new group named “Think Big America.” It’s purpose is to promote the Democrat abortion agenda across the country. I.e., any and all abortions should be legal for any reason right up until birth and paid for by taxpayers.

LIBS of TIKTOK: I’m sorry about the graphic, but you have to see it to believe it. This conservative social media activist has succeeded in getting five pornographic books removed from the school library shelves of the Northeast Independent School District in San Antonio, Texas. The district serves about 60,000 students.

OREGON: Woke education officials have extended their ban on requiring that students demonstrate basic competency in reading, writing, and math in order to get a high school diploma.

PFIZER LIED, PEOPLE DIED: A paper entitled “Forensic Analysis of the 38 Subject Deaths in the 6-Month Interim Report of the Pfizer/BioNTech BNT162b2 mRNA Vaccine Clinical Trial” was published on October 17, 2023 in the International Journal of Vaccine Theory, Practice, and Research.

This analysis showed that Pfizer altered the COVID-19 “vaccine” data in order to gain Emergency Use Authorization. Specifically, they reported four deaths in the placebo arm of its clinical trial versus only two deaths in the vaccine arm. In reality, the vaccine test subjects experienced a 3.7 times increase in cardiovascular deaths compared to placebo controls.

S&G: I’ve wondered where trannies got the term “cis-gendered” to refer to heterosexuals. Today I was reading about resveratrol at Consumer Lab and saw, “Resveratrol exists in either the cis- or trans- form.” So I googled and learned these are terms used in molecular biology to describe genes that … uhhh yeah, no. They lost me after that. Anyhoops, it occurs to me that this might be where trannies got “cis-” to describe (and demean) those of us who do not have a gender-disordered sexuality.

She didn’t say sorry to the staffer she yelled at; she just said “oops, got caught” then blamed Republicans for leaking the video. Jesse Waters said the leak came from within her own office.

SPEAKER of the HOUSE: After 22 days of wrangling, the GOP conference has finally banded together to replace the failed speaker and Trump-hating RINO, Kevin McCarthy. The new speaker, attorney Mike Johnson (R-LA), used to work for Alliance Defending Freedom; he has a 100% voting rating on critical pro-life and pro-family issues and has been deeply involved in holding the FBI accountable for investigating Catholics. In 2022, Rep. Johnson introduced the Stop the Sexualization of Children Act, which if enacted would prohibit federally funded institutions like public libraries and schools from promoting gender ideology.

GRAMMY NOTES: This graphic makes me sad. I can count on my fingers the number of times either of my parents said any of these things to me. And I don’t need both hands. I hope and pray I did a lot better job of parenting our girls than they did parenting me.
