JACK CHICK: The Catholic Church founded Islam, Nazism, Mormonism, and Communism?! Who knew?! Jack Chick, utterly uneducated fundamentalist cartoonist, that’s who. Sadly, his sick, hate-filled Chick Tracts are still in print.

Among other things, these foul publications purport to “prove” that the Sacraments are ineffective, that the Pope is an antichrist, that Jesuits run around the world fomenting wars, that the Vatican is bent on world domination, that the Holy Eucharist is based on Egyptian worship of Osiris, that Mary is the Masonic Isis, and that Jesus hates the Catholic Church, which He calls the “Mother of Abomination.”

I first encounter Chick Tracts in college when a neighbor approached me with one that his mother had given him. He was in love with a Catholic girl; his anti-Catholic mother was appalled and wanted to save him from falling into popery and damnation. The tract said things that, if true, would have meant that no Christian could ever be Catholic. Thankfully, the arguments were ones I had no trouble rebutting on the spot.

MEDIA: The undeclared PR arm of the Democratic Party wants American voters to be afraid! Fear COVID! Fear CLIMATE CHANGE! Fear TRUMP! This week, the Washington Post, New York Times, and the Atlantic were all running hot and heavy on the theme of TRUMP WILL BE A DICTATOR!!!

PHILIPPINES: The Islamic State has claimed responsibility for Sunday’s bombing during a Catholic Mass in Marawi that injured at least 54 and killed four.

TRUMP: New York’s Trump-hating Attorney General Letitia James is busy ignoring actual crimes in order to satisfy her campaign promise to take Trump down. Her case is the first ever brought in New York in which a borrower is being sued for fraud when no one is claiming actual harm. The state is seeking a $250 million fine against Trump, and wants him to be forced to give up control of his businesses.

A Deutsche Bank AG executive told a court in New York on Tuesday that it is not unusual for loan clients to overstate their net worth, and that the bank does its own due diligence in determining eligibility for loans. Another executive testified that the bank had benefited from its business relationship with Trump and had wanted to continue that relationship.
