CATHOLIC: [9:24] – “Despite popular myth, the Church did not burn heretics. It was the secular authorities that held heresy to be a capital offense. The simple fact is that the medieval Inquisition saved uncounted thousands of innocent (and even not-so-innocent) people who would otherwise have been roasted by secular lords or mob rule.

HATE CRIMES: I have a fundamental problem with the very concept of “hate” being criminalized. We have laws about bad behavior; adding laws about bad thoughts is dangerous to our constitutional freedoms.

There is a case in Colorado that has had an appalling outcome that just adds fuel to my concerns. Anderson Lee Aldrich pleaded guilty to opening fire at a nightclub in 2022, killing 5 and injuring 19. He has been sentenced to 55 concurrent life sentences, plus 2,000 years. Why so harsh? The nightclub served the alphabet community, so, of course, it must have been a “hate crime.” Never mind that Aldrich never said why he he did it.

In 2021, Darrell Brooks drove his SUV through a Christmas parade in Waukesha, Wisconsin, killing six and injuring 61. Those killed included four members of the “Dancing Grannies” group, one man, and an 8-year-old boy. Brooks was convicted of six counts of first-degree intentional homicide, six counts of hit-and-run causing death, and 61 counts of recklessly endangering safety. He was sentenced to six life sentences, plus 765½ years. Like Aldrich, Brooks never said why he did it.

When did our justice system become so perverted that the lives of five homosexuals getting drunk and hooking up at a night club could be deemed more than ten times as valuable as the lives of six grandmothers and children attending a Christmas parade?

LOUISIANA: As of two days ago, Louisiana schools that receive state funds must display the Ten Commandments “in each building it uses and classroom in each school under its jurisdiction.” The bill specifies that the text must be presented at the main focal point of a poster or framed document measuring at least 11 inches by 14 inches and printed in a “large and easily readable font.” It also requires a 200-word “context statement” explaining that the Ten Commandments were “a prominent part of American public education for almost three centuries.”

TRANS: Gender dysphoria is a mental disorder. So are phobias. We are not the ones who are ignorant about science here. A massive, years-long study entitled “Gender identity disorders among young people in Germany: prevalence and trends, 2013–2022. An analysis of nationwide routine insurance data” was recently published in Aerzteblatt (German: Doctor’s Sheet). It reported that a super majority of young people who identify as transgender will grow out of it in five years.

TURKEY: Turkey joined the ranks of more than 20 countries that have been consecrated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Monsignor Marek Solczyński, apostolic nuncio to Turkey, presided over the consecration to the Sacred Heart at St. John’s Cathedral, Izmir, “surrounded by almost all the bishops of the country’s four Catholic communities — Latin, Armenian, Syriac, and Chaldean.

WOMEN’S SPORTS: CLICK https://x.com/JenniferSey/status/1772208721193480210 [3:56] to hear the founder of XX-XY Athletics, a clothing company dedicated to protecting women’s sports and spaces. The company’s TikTok account was permanently suspended because “it doesn’t comply with our advertising policies.”

TikTok is owned by the Chinese internet company ByteDance. The parent company, ByteDance, is based in Beijing, China. Since both the government and the culture in China are hostile to transgender identifying people, it makes one wonder why TikTok is a primary promoter of the movement. Hmm, let me think …

GRAMMY NOTES: I took a “What animal are you?” personality test and scored high on “Beaver.” All I can say here is, “Yes.
