EVs: Got this in a group text from a family friend – “Prayers please … I hate this electric rental car. On the phone with Avis. Probably driving 2 hours out of the way to ___ airport to switch. None of their reported charging stations they listed are in working order or accessible. Will be late arriving ___ tonight. Slightly freaking out.” Response from dd – “We had the same issue. Hubby hated it. I can promised you we won’t be buying a EV car anytime soon.” Thankfully, our friends arrived at the airport before their charge ran out and Avis swapped them at no charge. (Ha ha, no charge. Get it? ::groan::)

TAX ON TIPS: Kamala has been saying in her stump speech that she will eliminate the tax on tips for hospitality workers. Not only did she copy this from Trump, but also there’s not a snowball’s chance in hell she’d actually make good on it.
Just last week,she said on Social media, “Two years ago today, I proudly cast the tie-breaking vote to pass our Inflation Reduction Act.” Dems claimed it would “make our tax code fairer by cracking down on millionaires, billionaires, and corporations that evade their obligations.”
The Inflation Reduction Act provided the IRS with $80 billion in additional funding, which they used to hire 87,000 new IRS agents. They promised they would only be going after people making $400K per year or more. BUT … the IRS initiated the tax on tips effort months BEFORE the vote!
