Bits & Bytes

FACT CHECKING: [3:39] – Steve Hilton fact checks Kamala’s acceptance speech and Gavin Newsom’s statement that Trump is somehow responsible for every bad thing the Biden-Harris administration did.

FLAUXTUS: [8:09] – Yes, Virginia. They do think we’re stupid.

MEDIA BIAS: In addition, Harris has received 66% more airtime than former President Donald Trump.

MICHIGAN: Democrats have been trying to keep Cornel West off state ballots. On Saturday, a Michigan state judge ruled against their efforts, which he agreed were “frivolous and unfounded attempts to stifle opposition and debate.

I can see why the Dems are agitated. He’s a Black “preacher” man whose positions are all on the Left. IOW, his presence on ballots ensures a portion of votes are siphoned away from Harris-Walz.

I skimmed his platform. It includes: “embracing safe and legal abortion”; nationalizing the fossil fuel industry to “decisively phase out the relics of our carbon-dependent past”; “reparations for Black U.S. Residents”; “ensuring the right to vote for all, including those currently and formerly incarcerated”; defund police; empty jails; abolishing ICE; defunding border patrol; abolish “right to work” laws; nationalize free child care and free pre-K; free college; cancel student loans.

GRAMMY NOTES: Yes! I beat Level 14!

  1. I’m impressed that you made it to Level 15! I almost never get that high. I usually do fine on the first ten levels, but as soon as they start giving you less time to solve the puzzle, then it’s usually game over for me. I don’t know why they do that. The higher levels are already more difficult, since you have to obliterate more rows, so why allow less time to do it? Are they just being sadistic for the fun of it?

Maybe so! LOL I’ve found a couple tricks that have helped, but they are only for beating levels, not getting higher points. I can’t do both. Avoid words that have more vowels than consonants … let similar letters (esp the ones you hate) collect because 3 or more of the same letter is a “word” you can obliterate … try to beat the easier boards with time left over to prepare yourself for the shorter sessions … use extra time to try weird combinations that turn out to be legal words you never heard of before … save all your bombs until the shorter time levels and only use enough to get the check mark to appear.

      • Good advice, thanks!

Since I frequently manage to wipe out between 15 and 20 rows in the course of completing the first 10 levels, I have suspected for a long time that if I had two minutes for each level, I could make it to level 20. To test it out, I sort of invented my own way to play. I play as long as I can the normal way, and when I fail and get sent back to the beginning, I proceed as if I’m at the level where I was disqualified. So if I made it to level 14 and then got bumped off on 15, I play the first round of the next game as if it were level 15 and see if I can get rid of 15 rows, and so on. When I play it this way, I almost always make it to 20.
