Bits & Bytes

DAILY PRAYER: Dear Lord, Thank You for this reminder that You really get what we’re going through. Have mercy on us as we struggle with our humanity and keep on loving us into Your kingdom. Amen.

BACK THE BLUE: Or they will not back you.

FAUXTUS: Biden’s minders flipped a totally pointless bird at Trump supporters in his last days by signing an executive order banning offshore drilling in large areas of the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. Trump will no doubt rescind the stupid thing in 13 days.

The NY Post reports the lame jerks also created a ban on new non-condensing, natural gas-fired water heaters, a move they are so proud of that they did not announce it. Dunno how the Post learned of it. And I don’t know if it’s as easy to undo as the drilling ban.

If these morons actually cared about the environment, they wouldn’t be wasting paper on this nonsense.

META: Meta is ending its fact-checking program in the United States. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said, “It’s time to get back to our roots around free expression on Facebook and Instagram.” The fact-checkers “have become too politically biased and have destroyed more trust than they created, especially in the U.S.”

Meta is switching to a community notes system, similar to Elon Musk-owned social media platform X. Community notes are based on feedback from users. Notes that receive a certain number of votes across people with different ideologies are displayed under posts.

NEW YORK: On Jan. 3, New York Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan’s Jan. 3 decision to reject Trump’s request to dismiss the witch hunt New York Dems used to keep him sitting in a court room for weeks during campaign season. Instead, Merchan set Jan.10 for passing sentence. In his order, Merchan said he “a sentence of unconditional discharge appears to be the most viable solution to ensure finality and allow the Defendant to pursue his appellate options.”

As we learned with Hunter Biden’s pre-sentencing pardon, the felony convictions against Trump would become finalized with sentencing. On Jan. 10, Trump and his lawyers filed an appeal to stop the sentencing, hoping to trigger an automatic stay, or pause, in the proceedings.

Trump spokesman Steven Cheung said. “The Supreme Court’s historic decision on Immunity, the state constitution of New York, and other established legal precedent mandate that this meritless hoax be immediately dismissed.” The alleged crimes all involve hush money payments that Trump made to shut up scandal mongers looking to make a quick buck.

NOKO: Fat Little Rocketman has banned all forms of sausage. People caught cooking or selling hotdogs could find themselves arrested for treason and sentenced to hard labor. Reports have also emerged from the hermit nation that people who get divorced face one to six months in labor camps for their “crimes” against the state.

TURN THE PAGE: Fox News contributor Joe Concha discusses President Biden’s ‘lecture’ to reporters at a White House event and his decision to award Medals of Freedom to the likes of Hillary Clinton and George Soros. [3:13] – I must give credit to the Dems in Congress for confirming the 2024 electoral vote without unseemly drama. Kamala held up well, though I did think she looked like she might burst into tears at one point. I’m curious how many tranquilizers she needed to get through that lengthy and humiliating event.

GRAMMY NOTES: Thankfully, Daisey passed in her sleep during the night … in her own cozy bed and in her own time.

Sad to hear it, but glad it was peaceful. Pretty pup. Condolences from our family, and from our own Malinois Daisy.
