Chatting with GROK

Before I share my latest “wasting time on the internet because I just really need to sit down and NOT be creative for a minute” thing … let me assure you that I do know GROK is just a sophisticated computer search program.

  1. The only interaction I’ve had with Grok was, I asked Grok to review my story, Invulnerable, published fifteen years ago on my website. It’s far from my usual webworks fare. Never got any real feedback. I don’t have much perspective on how it reads. I re-read it about once a year; I like it.

It’s SF in an eclectic “multi-media” format, with various narrators, and an odd subject. I was amused to find that Grok was complimentary about the format and style. I was impressed that Grok seemed to grasp the basic story idea and author’s intent, almost as if it were plagiarizing some human source. It was a nice review!.

Funny thing, Grok only read part 1, never got to the main story in part 2, and the conclusions. I’ve sometimes wondered if some reader might make that mistake in following the web-based story.

I was hesitant to use AI, but GROK is saving me so much time researching and fact checking that I have become a regular.
