Our agents confirmed that Mr. Shah Alam entered the United States as a refugee on December 24, 2024, and was not amenable to removal. Border Patrol agents offered him a courtesy ride, which he chose to accept to a coffee shop, determined to be a warm, safe location near his last known address, rather than be released directly from the Border Patrol station. He showed no signs of distress, mobility issues, or disabilities requiring special assistance.”
Reports also state the man died as a result of a pre-existing medical condition that had no thing to do with him being dropped off at a donut shop at his request.

GRAMMY NOTES: One of my most precious early memories is of the day I got my own library card. Once a week, my mother would drop me off in the children’s room to browse and borrow while she went through the stacks in the adult section. Then we’d visit my disabled godmother and go home. The look, feel, and smell of that children’s room wraps me in love.
