LENTEN MEDITATION: [7:05] – In 1979, my fiancé and I attended an Engaged Encounter week-end. At the first gathering, there were 18 couples; we were a bit late, so were seated at the end of the back row. For an ice breaker, the presenters had each couple stand and introduce each other, then say how they had met.

Couple after couple said, “We met in a bar.” After 17 straight “We met in a bar” announcements, the anticipation was palpable. We, the last couple, stood up. I introduced my fiancé and could hear a pin drop as I paused before saying, “We met in church.” Everybody lost it. LOLOLOL

We are now celebrating our 47th year together as a Catholic couple, so thankful to God for our three beautiful daughters, the amazing men they married, and the gorgeous grandkids they have gifted us. To my mind, “met in church” is the best possible beginning for a lifetime of happiness.

PENNSYLVANIA: Gov Josh “No Kings” Shapiro’s neighbor is accusing him of stealing land in an “outrageous abuse of power.” Democrat (“Trump’s border wall is evil”) Josh wants to build a security barrier (aka, border wall) around his property. The problem is … part of his big, beautiful wall is on his neighbor’s property.

Last year, Shapiro and the owners failed to negotiate a mutually agreeable plan for Shapiro to either buy or lease the land, so on or about August 29, 2025, counsel for the Shapiros stated that the Shapiros would be taking “alternative actions” to obtain the property. And by “alternative actions”, the governor meant “steal by claiming squatters rights.”

Shapiro has not only planted arborvitae (fast-growing evergreen trees commonly used for privacy hedges) on the Mock property without permission, over the Mocks’ express objections, but also has used taxpayer resources to station State Police officers on the land to prevent the Mocks from using it.

WASHINGTON: Pennsylvania’s Democrat governor isn’t the only one who thinks theft is cool. Seattle’s socialist Mayor Katie Wilson is claiming she will unilaterally BAN grocery stores from closing down in her city. If a privately owned grocery business tries to leave town due to theft, taxes, or safety concerns, Wilson and her commie allies allies in the state legislature want to use Eminent Domain to seize the company’s properties and turn them into government-run shops.
