DAILY PRAYER: Dear Lord, Be with the many people who come hungering for Your love and grant them Your salvation. In Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

AMERICAN HISTORY: On March 18, 1942, President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed an executive order creating the War Relocation Authority to manage the enforced internment of Japanese-Americans internment camps during World War II. About two-thirds of those interned were U.S. citizens.

Graphic: 1942 editorial propaganda cartoon in the New York newspaper PM by Dr. Seuss depicting Japanese Americans in California, Oregon, and Washington—states with the largest population of Japanese Americans—as prepared to conduct sabotage against the U.S.

Theodor “Dr. Seuss” Geisel, who published many patriotic cartoons during the War, supported internment, saying: “Right now, when the Japs are planting their hatchets in our skulls, it seems like a hell of a time for us to smile and warble: “Brothers!” It is a rather flabby battle cry. If we want to win, we’ve got to kill Japs, whether it depresses John Haynes Holmes or not. We can get palsy-walsy afterward with those that are left.

CATHOLIC: I know that faith is not a democracy, but I gotta wonder if maybe the fact that half of all of Christ’s followers belong to the Catholic Church might be worth noting.

CUBA: After more than a week of rolling blackouts, the nation’s energy grid has collapsed entirely, leaving about 10 million people without power. The island has not received oil shipments in more than three months and has only solar power, natural gas and thermoelectric plants.

EDUCATION: Also, since there is nowhere in a pond for a fish to swim away to, there are still 8 fish in the pond.

IRAN: As a military mom, I love hearing “no boots on the ground.” [3:58] – Iranians are celebrating the deaths of the regime’s hard-line security chief, Ali Larijani, and the head of the Revolutionary Guard’s Gestapo-like Basij militia, Gen. Gholamreza Soleimani. With the old Ayatollah dead and his son reportedly seriously wounded, Larijani was considered the de facto leader of the failing regime.

LENTEN MEDITATION: “To help us distinguish between right and wrong, God has given us a conscience that serves as a kind of spiritual radar. The condition you keep it in will determine how much you can trust it.

“The sacred conscience is one that has been kept spotless through confession of sin (1 John 1:9) and reflects a desire to know and follow God’s will. Once we are cleansed, we can live without guilt, walking openly and transparently. When we do sin, we know immediately that we need to get right with God.

“The struggling conscience is clogged with rules and regulations, and its spirit of legalism makes us critical of our performance. Having created our own system of “should, ought, and must,” we use it to determine right or wrong. In doing so, we show a lack of understanding about God’s righteousness, which can never be replaced with self-righteousness (Philippians 3:8-10).

“The soiled conscience is stained from harboring sin. If we consistently choose our way over God’s, we lose sight of what’s beautiful and true.

“The seared conscience is insensitive to sin. When we resist and ignore its warnings, it will become numb and unresponsive.

“Ask God to show you how well your conscience is operating, and where there’s room for improvement, allow Him to restore it.”

MEDIA: CNN wouldn’t have anything to do with Marjorie Taylor Greene back when she was a flaming conservative. Now that she hates Orange Man Bad, she’s a welcome on-air guest and interview subject. MTG reminds me of leftists in that she appears to need to be angry all the time.

PRAYER for OUR NATION: Dear Lord, In Jesus’ Name, we pray. Amen. Strengthen our teachers with grace and wisdom, that every student receives a quality education rooted in truth and morality. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

SEMIQUINCENTENNIAL: The 2026 Emerging Liberty Dime is a one-year-only US coin designed to celebrate our nation’s 250th anniversary. The reverse of the coin depicts a bald eagle clutching only arrows in its left talon, while its right one is empty. The coin bears dual dates of 1776 – 2026 and will temporarily replace the Roosevelt dime. According to design creator Eric David Custer, the omission of the olive branch in the right talon is a direct nod to the American Revolution, where colonists were still waiting for peace.

SNAP: “Nothing says entitlement like suing because your taxpayer-funded food benefits won’t pay for junk food. If someone else is buying your groceries, the response should be gratitude, not arrogance. This lawsuit is a perfect example of how welfare breeds an entitlement mentality.” @PeterSchiff

VIRGINIA: After gaining the majority in the state’s General Assembly, Democrats passed a slew of gun ban and confiscation laws. Certain provisions do not apply to members of the General Assembly.

GRAMMY NOTES: Once upon a time, my brother hosted groups of students from China who always asked to see a real American grocery store. When they saw how much good quality food there was, they would insist that he had taken them to one of the stores the government maintains to impress foreigners. So he’d put them on the bus and drive around, letting them visit any store they pointed at. Once they realized that plenty was normal for us, they’d go shopping. They’d buy so much stuff, they often had a hard time getting it all on to the plane home.
