DAILY PRAYER: Dear Lord, We praise You and we thank You for all You have done and all You will do. In Jesus’ Name, we pray. Amen.

AMERICAN HISTORY: On April 17, 1970, Apollo 13 astronauts James A. Lovell, Fred W. Haise and Jack Swigert splashed down safely in the Pacific, four days after a ruptured oxygen tank crippled their spacecraft while enroute to the moon.

BORDER: “60 Minutes” recently aired a high-profile interview with three prominent (left-wing) U.S. cardinals: Blase Cupich of Chicago, Robert McElroy of San Diego, and Joseph Tobin of Newark.
During the segment, Cardinal Tobin stood by his previous characterization of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) as a “lawless organization,” claiming the agency “violates guarantees of our Constitution” to “terrify people.”
Cardinal Cupich added, “I would like to know what Catholics feel about this indiscriminate mass deportation. I think that it’s very clear the American people are saying, ‘We really didn’t vote for this.’”

CATHOLIC: Dakota Andrade 2 notes that Pope Leo has said almost nothing about the slaughter of Christians in places like Nigeria. “But the week Trump escalated the Iran war? Leo flew across continents, gave media interviews, posted viral messages, and had three American Cardinals appear on 60 Minutes in what felt like a coordinated response. I’m asking why my Church saves its loudest moments for American politics — and its quietest moments for the people actually dying for the faith. That question deserves an honest answer.“

ERIC SWALWELL: Stephen Cloobeck is a billionaire donor and former supporter of Eric Swalwell. Since the sexual misconduct allegations, Cloobeck says, “Eric who? …You bust the trust, you don’t exist in my life!”

EVERYDAY HEROES: Four US presidents did not accept their salary for personal use, because they were independently wealthy. While legally required to accept the check, George Washington, Herbert Hoover, John F. Kennedy, and Donald Trump either donated the funds to charity or to government departments.

FEMINISM: Norah Vincent was a lesbian journalist who disguised herself as a man named “Ned” for about 18 months in the early 2000s with the intention of proving that men have it easier. What she learned was that she and all her toxic feminist cronies were wrong. She wrote, “Men are suffering. They have different problems than women have, but they don’t have it better. They need our sympathy, they need our love, and they need each other more than anything else. They need to be together.”

POPE LEO: On April 14, Christopher Tremoglie published a piece in The Washington Examiner entitled “Pope Leo attacked Trump first, on several occasions, not the other way around.” He goes back to last fall and examines the timing of various shots fired in the now-famous feud.

SCOTUS: During a recently appearance at the University of Kansas School of Law, Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor criticized an opinion by Justice Brett Kavanaugh saying, “This is from a man whose parents were professionals. And probably doesn’t really know any person who works by the hour.” On Wednesday, she issued a rare public apology, saying, “I regret my hurtful comments” and noted she had also apologized to her colleague privately.
She was way out of line with this one. Not only was it inappropriate of her to publicly attack the character of a fellow judge, but also Brett Kavanaugh doesn’t deserve what she said. For years, he has volunteered at soup kitchens and similar meal programs for the homeless, saying it helps him “stand in the shoes of others” and understand the situations of people experiencing homelessness. He has mentioned talking with those he serves and emphasizing that “every person you serve a meal to is just as good as me or better.”

STUPID PEOPLE: This week, Good Housekeeping magazine published an article entitled, “Is It Okay to Pick Flowers From Someone’s Yard? A Gardening Expert Weighs In.” For me, it is a very sad commentary that the question even got asked. What’s worse is reading the author’s conclusions. After admitting it’s illegal to trespass and steal, the author says it might be “okay” if you do it “right.” Only at at the very, very end of the article does the author suggest maybe you could ask the property owner for permission before taking what isn’t yours. ::smh::
