Bits & Bytes

CATHOLIC: CLICK https://www.facebook.com/reel/1264480795525534 [2:30] to hear Josh Pray exclaim about saints. And, as a Catholic grandma, I gotta say that, while I appreciate his confidence and kudos, let’s be real. The Catholic Church has canonized more than 10,000 saints!

COVID: In 2022, the Maine Board of Licensure in Medicine suspended Dr. Meryl Nass’s medical license and ordered her to undergo a psychological evaluation for allegedly spreading misinformation about COVID-19, because she noted that people who recovered from the illness had protection against re-infection. The board members also took issue with Nass prescribing ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine to patients who had COVID-19.

Last week, U.S. District Judge Lance Walker ruled that the board’s actions against Nass appeared to have had no probable cause, thus her suit against the board may proceed. Nass posted, “I am happy to report that I will eagerly move forward with the legal case to clear my name and defend the free speech right of medical practitioners to tell the truth to their patients, especially if it goes against government or medical orthodoxy.”

ELECTION INTEGRITY: Yesterday, the Supremes ruled that President Donald Trump may—for the time being—enforce his executive order restricting voting by mail ahead of the November midterm elections that will determine control of Congress.

MAHA: “From your fourties onwards muscle silently slips away year on year unless you actively push back against it, and muscle isn’t only about looking strong, it’s a proper metabolic organ that soaks up blood sugar, protects your joints, keeps you upright and independent, and is tightly tied to how long and how well you go on to live (lots of reliable evidence on this).

“”Resistance training is the fix here, and it honestly doesn’t mean moving into a gym, because two or three sessions a week where you lift something heavy enough that the last couple of reps are really hard is enough to change your whole trajectory. This can easily be body weight exercises!

“So the action today is small and you can do it right now, whether that’s a single set of press-ups or standing up and sitting back down from a chair ten times, and the point is simply to remind your body that it still needs to be strong.”

PORTUGAL: Portugal has banned forcing someone to cover their face for reasons related to gender, religion, age, or origin. IOW, burkas are no longer permitted in public. Anyone caught covering their face may receive a fine ranging from €150 (£129) to €3,000 (£2,600).

PROJECT VERITAS: [5:25] – The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit has ruled in favor of Project Veritas’ undercover reporting that had a dramatic impact on the 2016 presidential election.

STUPID PEOPLE: It’s a lot more complicated than “If you are colorblind, you aren’t racist.

Jenny Lynn Casey commented, “There was an OBGYN I listened to that began to notice an increase in miscarriages in her practice with her patients. She actually began collecting data asking if they got it, her findings were she believed it was causing them strictly based on data.”

Emily Palmer Rice commented, “I got ALL the Covid vaccinations and have not regretted it once. Praise God for science and smart people who were already working towards the vaccine before the pandemic. Praise God for Dr. FAUCI!

GRAMMY NOTES: I was 9 days old. I had three older brothers and an older sister who were all brunettes. We did not eat cold cereal for breakfast, toaster pastries didn’t exist, and my mother would have never allowed diner furniture into her kitchen.
