NATIONAL SECURITY: On August 20, the FBI announced that Russian hackers tied to Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB*) have been breaching critical infrastructure computer systems in the United States. The hackers have been targeting two key weaknesses in older or unsecured network devices.

PARTY OF PERVERSION: ‘Outnumbered’ discusses a Senate report finding 11,500 migrant children placed with unvetted adults. One address had 42 kids.

The Biden administration established a hotline intended for unaccompanied migrant children to get help if their host families or sponsors turned out to be creeps. But it was apparently all for show. Nobody actually did anything, despite the approximately 65,000 calls for help that the hotline received between August 2023 and January 2025. Once the Trump administration took office, efforts were made to review all of the calls. In at least one case, the sponsor was arrested.

TEXAS: As soon as the Democrat babies came back to work, the Texas House passed a newly drawn congressional map 88-52. The likely outcome of the change is for Republicans to win five extra seats in the U.S. House. It may also save us from having to listen to Jasmine Crockett, whose home is now in a district already represented by a Democrat and the majority of whose former district is now majority Republican.

GRAMMY NOTES: Buzz (who isn’t “Lil” any more!) built a color mixing conductivity device from a kit and will be doing experiments with it to understand how mixing colors with light is different from mixing colors with pigments. The right hand photo shows the device with red, green, and blue all on at the same time. With pigments, that would make a muddy brown; with lights, it makes white.

NEBRASKA: ICE agents recently dismantled a massive sex and drug trafficking ring that was being run by violent illegals out of motels and eyebrow salons across the Omaha metro area. Twenty-seven victims, including 10 children under the age of 12, were rescued from cockroach-infested rooms, where they had been deprived of basic sanitation and subjected to sexual exploitation. Agents also confiscated more than half a million dollars in cash and illicit drugs.

Multiple illegal aliens of Indian nationality are in custody, having been charged with multiple federal offenses stemming from an alleged conspiracy to engage in labor trafficking, sex trafficking, and harboring of other undocumented non-citizens. All individuals taken into custody will remain detained pending judicial proceedings and subsequent removal. Their mugshots have not been released to the press.

PEACE: Trump met with Putin in Alaska and then Zelensky in the Oval Office. Zelensky (who actually wore a suit this time) has agreed to pursue a trilateral meeting to discuss ceasefire and security guarantees for Ukraine. Trump pledged to not send U.S. Troops into Ukraine.

RUSSIA COLLUSION HOAX: Thirty-seven more current and former intelligence professionals have had their security clearances revoked for having “abusedthe public trust by politicizing and manipulating intelligence, leaking classified intelligence without authorization, and/or committing intentional egregious violations of tradecraft standards.”

DNI Gabbard’s statement also said, “Our Intelligence Community must be committed to upholding the values and principles enshrined in the US Constitution and maintain a laser-like focus on our mission of ensuring the safety, security and freedom of the American people.”

At least one of those arrested is a member of MS-13.

The Counterfeit Catholic Church

Everyone acts like Islam “came out of nowhere” in the 7th century. It didn’t. It was built by lifting Catholic ideas, stripping them down, and repackaging them as “new revelation.” Let’s expose a few.

The Angel Gabriel

Appears to Mary in Luke 1. He brings the Word that becomes flesh. That’s Catholic revelation.

600 years later, “Gabriel” appears to Muhammad in a cave. But this time? No Incarnation. Just dictation. Sound familiar?

The Virgin Mary

Catholics had venerated Mary as Mother of God for centuries. Ephesus (431 AD) settled it: Theotokos.

Islam? Mary gets lifted wholesale into the Qur’an… but Christ’s divinity is stripped out. It’s like stealing the frame and burning the painting.

The Eucharist

From the start, the Church celebrated the Body & Blood of Christ at the altar. “Unless you eat, you have no life in you.”- John 6

Islam? Denies it, but keeps the “ritual meal” vibe in Ramadan’s breaking of the fast. A hollow echo.

Monasticism & Prayer

By the 4th century, Catholic monks prayed fixed hours daily. The Divine Office. Bells. Prostrations.

Islam? Five daily prayers facing a holy city. Prostrations. Ritual words. Copied—minus Christ.

Pilgrimage

Christians had pilgrimages to Jerusalem, the Holy Sepulchre, martyrs’ shrines. Long before Muhammad.

Islam? Hijacks the practice, re-centers it on Mecca, strips it of the Cross.

Scripture & Authority

The Church had the canon of Scripture locked down by the 4th century. Magisterium safeguarded it.

Islam? Claims a “book from heaven” with no witnesses, no councils, no continuity. Just one man’s word.

The irony?

  • Islam denies the very truths it borrows.
  • Loves Mary, but denies her Son is God.
  • Honors Jesus, but calls Him a prophet, not a Savior.
  • Copies prayer, pilgrimage, fasting—while rejecting the Cross that gives them meaning.

Islam is not an “independent revelation.” It’s a remix of Catholic truths— distorted, stripped of Christ, and repackaged as “submission.”

The Catholic Church: ✝️ The blueprint.

Islam: ☪️ The counterfeit.

And here’s the uncomfortable truth: If you admire Islam’s discipline, prayer, fasting, pilgrimage — You’re admiring Catholic practices Islam stole.

EVERYDAY HEROES: There are two busts of William Walker, one in Winchester Cathedral and the other in the gardens there. Construction of Winchester Cathedral was begun in 1079 and completed in 1532. Over time, the foundation eroded until, by the summer of 1905, it was near to collapsing. Huge cracks had appeared in the walls, some of them large enough for a small child to crawl into, the walls were bulging and leaning, and stone fell from the walls. GERRYMANDERING: Drawing the boundaries of electoral districts in a way that gives an advantage to political party or ethnic group. The term originated in 1812 when Massachusetts Governor Elbridge Gerry oversaw a redistricting effort in Massachusetts that would favor the Democratic Party.

FYI: The Republican Party was not founded until 1854 when anti-slavery activists, including Abraham Lincoln, sought to abolish slavery, which was supported by the Democrats.

Now that you know the practice of gerrymandering was invented by Democrats and named by a political cartoonist in 1812, you can understand the political cartoon below, which was published earlier this month.

NOLA: New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell and her former bodyguard, Jeffrey Vappie, have been charged with a combined 18 felony counts related to their adulterous affair. Cantrell, whose term as mayor will end in January, has been canoodling with Vappie for four years, using tax money to finance their hanky panky and more tax money to hide it from their spouses, his employers, and her voters.

RUSSIA COLLUSION HOAX: Susan Miller worked for the CIA for 39 years, rounding out her career as the CIA’s Chief of Counterintelligence. Since Trump DNI Tulsi Gabbard released documents showing the evidence behind the Russia! Russia! Russia! witchhunt was fabricated by Democrats, Miller has been making the leftist media rounds to declare, “The director of national intelligence and the White House are lying, again.”

The Pentagon has reportedly revoked her security clearance. FYI: Security clearances are not automatically revoked when a federal official leaves his/her post. Unless there is a specific reason, such as a security risk or lack of need, they often retain clearances for administrative convenience and/or to provide continuity of expertise to those who replace them.

USPS: For decades, letter carriers waited for residents to answer their signal; if no one was home, they took the mail back to the post office and tried again the next day. Some letter carriers used wooden, dumbbell-shaped door knockers on their rounds. Studies in the early twentieth century showed that carriers spent an average of two hours daily waiting at the doorstep. To save work hours, the Post Office Department required residents to install mailboxes or letter slots in 1916.

In 2018, during the first Trump administration, rules were created allowing employers with religious and/or moral objections to opt out of the Affordable Care Act’s requirement to cover abortion and contraceptives. On August 13, Judge Wendy Beetlestone of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania declared these rules to be arbitrary and capricious, and in violation of federal law.

Mark Rienzi, president of Becket, a nonprofit, public interest legal institute said,“The Little Sisters [of the Poor] might need yet another trip to the Supreme Court to end what has now been more than a dozen years of litigation over the same issue. We will fight as far as we need to fight to protect the Little Sisters’ right to care for the elderly in peace.”

The Little Sisters of the Poor was established in France in 1839 by Saint Jeanne Jugan to care for the elderly poor. There are currently about 2,372 sisters working in 31 countries on five continents.

GRAMMY NOTES: The Catholic Church does not have a doctrine about the Rapture, but Jesus Himself told us it will happen.

Matthew 24: “30 Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth[will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory. 31 And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other. … 40 Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. 41 Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.”

I have been told this refers to Final Judgment, but it doesn’t fit. Matthew 25: “31 When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.” In the first, angels go out and gather the elect; in the second, all the nations are gathered.

I believe that, as Jesus’s Resurrection was our model for those who have died in Christ before the Rapture and will rise in their glorified bodies, while Mary’s Assumption was our model for the rapture of those who will still be alive and will be changed. 1 Cor 15: “52 In a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.”

I also believe that when the Raptured gather, the Protestants will be saying, “We were RIGHT about the Rapture.” And the Catholics will high five and say, “Yes! And Mary was the first!“

The X account https://x.com/washprobs posted the tweet above and got blasted with so much reality that the owner shut down replies by anyone who hadn’t been pre-approved. I’ve included examples below.

“The way flashers are released with no charges after multiple offenses. That’s really inspiring to other flashers.”

“The homeless camps actually make it more beautiful. I love bringing my kids around drug addicted, mentally ill people.”

Feast of the Assumption of Mary into Heaven

DAILY PRAYER: Mary, Mother of Mercy, intercede for us, your children. Keep us under your protection, safe from all harm, healthy in mind, body, and spirit. Under your watchful care, may we avoid the pitfalls of prejudice, ingratitude, injustice, and violence. And may we be always worthy of the promises of Christ. Amen.

AI: When Mama Buzz first opened yesterday’s “Bits & Bytes” on her phone, the prayer showed up with a transparent background. She highlighted it, intending to make it visible so she could read it. Somehow, this triggered an AI to add what I’ve shown above. Wonderful thoughts, all of them, even if they did utterly miss the point I was trying to make by combining the prayer with that graphic. But I guess the Holy Spirit wanted us to see it, because when Mama reloaded, the prayer formatted correctly.
