Bits & Bytes

Sorry to be gone for so long! I was nursing my latest flare up. But I’ve got a LOT of stuff below to make it all up to you. 🙂

2018_07 13 Trump blimp in London

TRUMP’S LEADERSHIP: Member nations of NATO have pledged their “unwavering commitment” to increase defense funding. This is a victory for President Trump who has long called for other countries to share the burden of military spending. A Forbes report revealed that the U.S. spends more than double in defense spending for NATO than all other countries combined. I’m not going to hold my breath waiting on the MSM to report any of this. Continue reading →

MASCOTS: Last visit to the Botanical Garden

The movers come tomorrow and the Buzzers are simultaneously sad and excited about their move. If all goes as planned, they’ll be here at Casa Hyphen for a short visit in about four weeks!

Strong Enough

This is so good.

LYRICS: Strong Enough by Matthew West

You must
You must think I’m strong
To give me what I’m going through

Well, forgive me
Forgive me if I’m wrong
But this looks like more than I can do
On my own Continue reading →

McConnell Destroys Democratic Opposition To Potential SCOTUS Nominee

“Back in 1975, they assailed the nomination of John Paul Stephens. They said he lacked impartiality and opposed women’s rights … So these far left groups have been at the same scare tactics for over 40 years,” McConnell said. “We should treat this process with the dignity it deserves.”

Stilton’s Seal of Approval

2018_07 11 Seals of Approval by Stilton

Per the cartoon above, we do expect Brett Kavanaugh to be dragged through Hell and high water before his eventual confirmation as a Supreme Court Justice.

But our real purpose in combining these two stories is to celebrate these two very different but deeply inspiring occurrences. The amazing rescue of a boys soccer team from a nightmarish, water-filled cave renews our hope for mankind in general. Support came from around the world to save these young lives, and the courage and sacrifice of those involved is humbling and awe-inspiring. Continue reading →

MASCOT UPDATE: Saying good-bye to the gardens

Mama Buzz took up gardening when they moved to Alaska six years ago. I used to love gardening, but it’s been many years since I was well enough to indulge myself in planting, pruning, and yanking weeds. So Mama Buzz’s garden was my vicarious garden too and she always kept me up to date with lots of pictures from spring to fall.

This is the last Alaska garden. I feel kind of sad. She’ll plant again as soon as they get settled in their new house, which is all reserved, yay! It looks a lot like this one on the outside, but is bigger inside, since they didn’t have Bootz when they moved to the north country.

Anyway, this week-end, Mama Buzz and the kids tidied up the Alaska gardens, got them pretty for the next tenants, and gave some flowers for remembrance to friends they’re leaving behind. (She always kept a pretty planted pot on the utility cover, but that pot is going with them.)

#WalkAway

Democrats are driving away so many voters with their evil, ugly behaviors that there is now an official movement called #WalkAway for people to tell their stories on social media.

I watched a LOT of the videos at the #WalkAway YouTube channel, but I don’t want to clog your feed embedding too many. So here are my two most favorites, followed by just the titles (and brief descriptions) of others I enjoyed, so you can find them at YouTube if they sound interesting to you.

The founder of the #WalkAway movement is interviewed on t.v. about why he left the Left and started the movement and how much hatred has been directed at him as a result.
