Jesse Ventura, Bless His Heart
I find I am unable to comment honestly on how I feel about a grown man who has such a panty wad jammed up his crack that he actually sues a widow for something her dead husband may or may not have done eight years ago. “Turn the other cheek” comes to mind. Beyond that, my thoughts turn to unladylike words I try not to use.
Here is the back story …
On July 29, 2014, a jury awarded Jesse Ventura $1.8 million in his lawsuit against the estate of American Sniper author Chris Kyle. Ventura claimed that the book defamed him when it claimed Kyle had punched him for saying that “the Navy SEALs deserve to lose a few.”
Ventura’s lawyer said Kyle’s claims that Ventura said he hated America, thought the U.S. military was killing innocent civilians in Iraq, and that the SEALs “deserve to lose a few” had made him a pariah in the community that mattered most to him – the brotherhood of current and former SEALs.
- As far as I can figure, Ventura never denied he’d slandered the SEALs he claimed to care so much about.
- What he denied was that Kyle had decked him.
I’m sorry but ……….. jaw dropping amazement here. A former SEAL and professional wrestler got his panties in a bunch because some other SEAL claimed to have punched him? Did the big, bad, now deceased man also call Baby Butthurt a mean name?
Ventura’s attorney suggested $5 million to $15 million would be “reasonable compensation” for “irreparable harm” to Ventura’s “reputation.”
- Ventura’s REPUTATION?!
- Is he freaking KIDDING me?!

Stranded Soldier rescued via Facebook
Air Force Staff Sergeant Rowan Coash was driving down from Washington towards Texas to report for duty when, suddenly, his car broke down. He was stranded on a highway outside of Price, Utah – 1,000 miles from where he needed to be.
Coash contacted his friend Erica to tell her what had happened. And Erica took to social media, posting on her Facebook:
“Anybody out there in Facebook land near Price, UT and willing to help a soldier?”
As Coash’s car was being towed and taken to a mechanic, hundreds of people were sharing Erica’s post. A “Good Samaritan” in Price saw the post and helped arrange a rental truck to get Coash back on the road. In addition, she offered her garage to store his car until it could be fixed.
The mechanic’s diagnosis: Coash’s car needed a new motor and about $3,500 in repairs, which would have taken anywhere from six to ten days. The other issue was if Coash did not report in Texas in two days, he would be deemed AWOL. But he didn’t have the money to take care of the repairs.
Luckily, a veteran in Price was paying attention to the story being shared online and posted on his Facebook:
“Does anyone know a good mechanic that would be willing to do a solid for an American hero…?”
The post caught the attention of another mechanic, and he offered to take a look. The shop took care of the repairs at no cost to Coash. He made it to base on time and even got his car shipped back to him at no charge.
I can’t think of a better way to give back to the servicemen and servicewomen who sacrifice so much for us.

JUNE 6; THE LIBERATION BEGINS
Posted by Pistol Pete
More than a year in planning. Multi-national forces staging for months in England under strict secrecy. Tens of thousands of soldiers supported by 5,000 ships and 13,000 aircraft. They finally get the ‘go’ order and are packed into troop transports for the perilous trip across the Channel. Imagine what went through the mind of every man. This may be his last day. He thinks of his family and all the plans he’d made for the future. He looks at the man next to him. Will he make it to the beach? Will he even get out of the landing craft?
They know there are thousands of machine guns and artillery pieces to challenge the invasion. They never hesitate because they’ve been trained for this. They didn’t ask for it,but it came. Millions of people were dying and it had to be stopped. The waves buffet the craft from side to side and it stops short of the beach in three feet of water. The ramp flops down as you hear the chatter of machine guns. Your heart pounds as you grip your rifle. Time to go.
I was in my car at 4:30 AM when I heard the despot who currently occupies the White House read some words that somebody wrote for him. I had to turn it off. I could not bear to hear him speak words that were as empty as his soul.
In the foreground is a man who hardly deserves to be on the same ground the men in the background consecrated. Until the United States was settled nearly every war had been fought for conquest. With the emergence of America as a global power and a beacon for those craving the opportunity to live free we have never taken up arms except to liberate an oppressed people.
4400 lost their lives 70 years ago today. Thousands more suffered the same fate in the following days. All we asked from the countries we freed was enough ground to bury our dead.
The world has never seen the like of these warriors and never will again. It is our responsibility to teach our children about what these men sacrificed so that they will not have died in vain. Never forget.
