Progressive Christmas Carols

Rudolph the Progressive Nosed Reindeer

Barackin’ Around The Holiday Tree

O Dumb All Ye Hateful

The Twelve Taxes of Christmas

All I want for Christmas is your money

Jingle bailouts, jingle bailouts, jingle all the way
Oh what fun it is to lie & tell the networks what to say-ay!

Do you fear what I fear?

Away in a Prius

Oh Come, All Ye Occupiers

I Saw Daddy Kissing Santa Claus

Frosty, the politically correct, gender neutral snow person

Dashing through the debt, no budget to this day;
Over the cliff we go, spending all the way!

Grandma Got Run Over by an Enslaved Victim of Christo-Facist Animal Exploitation

God rest ye wealthy gentlemen, let nadda ye dismay,
If your marginal tax rate goes up 3%, you can still afford to pay!

Oh Non-Denominational Purely-Secular Totally-Inoffensive Tree

Oh Little Town of Bethlehem, Meh, You’re On Your Own

Today’s new SCRABBLE word went on my Christmas wish list!

ULU (pron OO loo) – Multi-purpose knife used by Inuit women.

ulu

My mom had a knife similar to this that she used to chop cabbage for cole slaw. Not being a fan of cole slaw, I never had a hankering for one myself.

Funny thing, I have been googling “cabbage + [various cutting words]” and, while I’m finding lots of gadgets from simple to industrial, I’m not turning up anything like what I remember her using.

The closest I found was under “pastry cutter” and that, golly gee whiz, looks a whole heckuva lot like an ulu. LOL

The cool part … okay, two cool parts … it’s recommended for people with WEAK HANDS (Like me, ooh ooh, pick me!) AND I just so happen to have loved ones of the employed variety LIVING IN ALASKA. Ha!

I think I’d like one with a pretty wooden handle that would feel good in my delicate princess hand, a cutting board with a storage slot and a scoop out place, which I swear has got to make cutting fruit and veg easier, like maybe deters those baby carrots from rocketing off? and also one of those ulu sharpeners like I saw at Amazon, cuz (You Listening, Loved One?!) you know how anal I am about keeping my blades sharp.

P.S., If you already got my Christmas presie, my birthday is in May … right before Mother’s Day. :o)

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL

posted by Pistol Pete

This is the time of year to give thanks for what God has granted to us.I’m thankful to have another holiday to spend with my family and my friends here.I am also thankful to have lived during a period of time that was slower and simpler. Families ate dinner together and attended church together. When dad asked you how your day was,he really wanted to know. Before teachers became unionized, they taught for the love of working with kids and did not fear for their safety from children armed with knives and guns. When an unmarried girl became pregnant,it brought shame on her family, and she was taken out of school and sent away. Now there are government-run nurseries because of all the 14-15 year old mothers to attend classes.

The only limits to how far a person could prosper were the limits they put on themselves. When they were successful,it was something young people could aspire to,not resent because they had more than you did.Welfare was a last resort for those who had no other means of support.Honesty was an admirable trait and a man’s word was his bond. Good guys always won at the movies. Liars, thieves and cheats would always get their just deserts in the end.

It’s about even money whether I’ll be here to bear witness to the media ‘making history’ again by getting the first woman elected president. It is certain that any viable conservative candidate will be ‘Palinized’ viciously to ensure the GOP-e runs another moderate. They will content themselves being a permanent minority .They will talk tough but always, always submit in the end because though they may be morally right, the media will still blame them for everything.Rush knew we were in trouble on election night because exit polling showed half the electorate still blamed Bush for the bad economy 4 years on.Obastard will use this until the day he retires to Hawaii.

I have not posted lately because there is no reason I can see for optimism.Guess I’m an Eeyore. We all know how this works: one side gets away with whatever it chooses to do and we get the blame. This will not change.Unemployment will be 15%,gas will be $5.00+(except for just before the election)millions more will be out of work and on welfare or disability.Twenty million more illegal immigrants will stream across the border to partake of the country’s largesse and vote democrat. The Rats,as this year, will target a few swing states  to perpetrate enough fraud to swing the election. It worked before,no reason to think it won’t work again.Who’s going to stop them?

They cheated Allen West out of his seat and spent millions (and probably thousands of illegal votes) to defeat Mia Love. Can’t have any black republicans in Congress, now, can we?

I meant for this to be a thoughtful, heartfelt expression of gratitude for all we’ve shared together.Seems I went off on a disjointed diatribe.I’m sorry about that.Since Nov. 6,I have not watched Fox News, not even The Five.I don’t think I’ve missed all that much.

God bless you and yours on this day of giving thanks for what God has granted us.

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!

A baby asked God, “They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow, but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?” “Your angel will be waiting for you and will take care of you.”The child further inquired, “But tell me, here in heaven I don’t have to do anything but sing and smile to be happy.”

God said, “Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you. And you will feel your angel’s love and be very happy.”

Again the child asked, “And how am I going to be able to understand when people talk to me if I don’t know the language?”

God said, “Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words you will ever hear, and with much patience and care, your angel will teach you how to speak.”

“And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you?”

God said, “Your angel will place your hands together and will teach you how to pray.”

“Who will protect me?”

God said, “Your angel will defend you even if it means risking it’s life.”

“But I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore.”

God said, “Your angel will always talk to you about Me and will teach you the way to come back to Me, even though I will always be next to you.”

At that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from Earth could be heard and the child hurriedly asked, “God, if I am to leave now, please tell me my angel’s name.”

“You will simply call her, ‘Mom.’”

The National Christmas Tree

God has a weird sense of humor.

In 1973, on the day after Nixon’s Vice President resigned in disgrace, a new National Christmas Tree was planted outside the White House. During planting, it fell off the truck and was badly damaged.

In 1977, Carter (who had won office largely because he was not a Republican or a Washington insider like the corrupt and unlamented Nixon-Agnew team) had to replace the Nixon tree, which had died slowly as a result of the fall.

The 1977 tree died within the year due to transplant shock complicated by bad weather, a fitting end for a tree planted during the Carter energy crisis.

In 1978, Carter planted a second tree. It survived through three Republican and one Democrat administration. Then the Obamas moved in.
