But you’ll never be the unique kind of cool that this guy was. Until today, when Leonard Nimoy passed away at 83 in southern California. We used to swim and catch crawfish on the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe within view of his mountainside home back in the 90s. It ain’t easy being green, we know, but for a Hollywood actor you were pretty ok. RIP, pointy-ears.

Prayer is so awesome!
November 6, 2014: Ten years ago, the very first 40 Days for Life campaign was conducted outside the Planned Parenthood abortion center in Bryan/College Station, Texas. Last year, it became the 37th abortion facility to shut down following 40 Days for Life campaigns outside their doors (22 more have closed since then). Today, that building is about to become the NEW HEADQUARTERS of 40 Days for Life!
Short-term plans include a memorial service for the children lost to abortion inside the building, and tearing down the tall, black iron fence surrounding the property as part of renovations.
The new 40 Days for Life headquarters will be used to help many more communities end abortion. The building will also house Hope Pregnancy Center, an affiliate of CareNet, as they expand their local medical services to include free STD testing. “The partnership between the two organizations demonstrates the close relationship between 40 Days for Life and life-saving pregnancy resource centers,” Carney said.
40 Days for Life has more than 9,500 confirmed saves (babies whose mothers changed their minds because of the pray-ers outside the clinic they were going to enter). In addition, 59 abortion centers that had 40 Days for Life campaigns outside their doors are now closed.

THANKS TO ALL FOR PRAYERS ANSWERED
After extensive and repeated tests it was determined Monday that there was no permanent damage to DW’s heart and she was to be put on a medication that would require her to remain in the hospital for three days for observation to ensure the regimen was controlling her cardio issues. Then after consulting with our family doctor on Tuesday they decided to put her on a different med that would allow her to come home yesterday afternoon.Being the cynical twerp I am it occurred to me as an afterthought they may have made the change to get her released because they needed the room. The waiting area on her floor had about 12 visitors when I went yesterday.None of them spoke English. One man was yelling something at an RN at the nurses station and his daughter had to translate.I suspect this is getting more and more common and will only get worse.
Immediately after getting her things home we went to WalMart to get the three new scripts filled so she could start her therapy. With our supplemental insurance prescription card, the cost of the main drug was $358.00.The retail was over $500.The only people who could afford that kind of money are union employees who got waivers from Obamacare for their cadillac medical plans and the welfare leeches who get everything paid for courtesy of the American taxpayer. We had to call the hospital and explain what happened, and they called in an alternative which is cheaper, but less effective and with more potential side effects.
We made a second trip to the pharmacy only to find they were out of it.They should have more in today. She will have to make weekly trips to get blood drawn and tested to make sure its working as it should.
Frustrated,a little angry we can’t afford the proper medication, knowing its only going to get worse.Still, she’s home, sleeping in her own bed and getting back to relative normality. For that I am thankful to Almighty God for his benevolent mercy and to you for your thoughts and prayers. It made all the difference.
The daily thread should be up shortly.

OPEN THREAD AND PRAYER REQUEST
This is going to be very short for obvious reasons. I’m asking Grunt,Mindful,CtH and BoB to take the reins for posting links today.
I got up yesterday at 12:30 am, like every day, and my beloved child bride was laying on her bed, gasping for air and clutching her chest. She insisted on getting dressed and having me take her to the hospital insyead of calling an ambulance. At the ER they tried to stabilize her blood pressure and her heart rate was about 92 beats per minute. They did a number of tests, took x-rays,EKGs and drew about 1/2 gallon of blood. She was admitted and they did a few more tests, but the chief cardiologist was off yesterday so he’ll have to determine today if he needs a stress test or some type of scan. We’re hoping its atrial fibrillation, which can be managed in most cases with blood thinners rather than surgery. Only time will tell. I have to get a few hours sleep before I head back up to the hospital since my apnea almost did me in staying up from midnight Saturday until last night. She turned 65 12 days ago,so she has medicare, but I just pray it’s nothing too serious. I cannot imagine being without her.
I’ll try to post a couple threads, but my computer is really loading slowly.

Morning Offering
A friend just introduced me to this prayer written by St. Francis de Sales and called Direction of Intention. I really liked it, plus my mom went to St. Francis de Sales Catholic School in Geneva, NY. So I picked a nice graphic (photo of dawn by another friend) and will be printing it up on cardstock to use as a bookmark. I have these cardstock prayers all over my house, stuck on the mirrors, tucked into my Bible. I like to practice the presence of God. They help.

Sometimes you just need your Mama
Gospel reading for September 15, 2014, Memorial of Our Lady of Sorrows: But standing by the cross of Jesus were his mother, and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. When Jesus saw his mother, and the disciple whom he loved standing near, he said to his mother, “Woman, behold, your son!” Then he said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother!” And from that hour the disciple took her to his own home. -John 19:25-27
Meditation by Heather Anderson Renshaw
Five years ago, my husband and I prayed the Novena to Our Lady of Sorrows for the first time. We began on The Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Sept. 8th) and culminated on the Memorial of Our Lady of Sorrows, which the Church celebrates today. In typical “us” fashion, we began the Novena a day late and scrambled to catch up. We agreed that it was a good thing God operates in kairos, and not chronos time.
Anyway, this powerful series of prayers invited us to ponder the seven sorrows throughout Mary’s life as Theotokos – the God-bearerer. It was a truly beautiful experience to find a deeper kinship with she whom I had often thought almost too perfect to even approach. I mean, Mary was born without sin, after all, and I was (and am) a wretched sinner! I couldn’t even make it out of the parish parking lot after Mass some Sundays without getting perturbed by
some lousy drivera fellow parishioner! We – Mary and I – weren’t exactly running in the same circles. Or were we?In today’s Gospel reading, Jesus tells John, his beloved disciple, “Behold, your mother!” And, further, John took Mary into his own home once Jesus died.
I have heard this passage several times, yet while praying the Novena, I heard something else – something interesting. I was reminded that, like John, I am beloved of Christ. And, like John and St. Joseph before him, I shouldn’t be afraid to invite Mary into my home, and my prayer life, as my Mother. Nothing gives Mary greater joy than when we obey her Son! It was a most beautiful epiphany. I felt compelled to intentionally invite Mary to watch over me as a wife and mother, and to cover me and my family in her loving mantle of grace and peace. I was no longer afraid to call her, “Mama.”
Just like all of us, Mary experienced profoundly difficult challenges throughout her life. Consider what it must have been like for her to watch helplessly as Jesus suffered and died right before her eyes!
God never told Mary her life would be easy, but He was with her in her sufferings, as He is with all of us when we struggle and stumble. I am so very grateful for A Heavenly Father thoughtful enough to send us a Mother to comfort and intercede for us in times of trial, because – as everybody knows – sometimes, you just need your Mama.
Take some time today to consider your relationship with Our Blessed Mother. When was the last time you gave her a call? She would be so very glad to hear from you!

There is no middle ground
I got the following in my Christian Movie Newsletter today:
Hi Chrissy,
This week, I was asked to share my bravest moment with a group of ladies. I chose the day that my heart raced with fear and my stomach turned with the prospect of what lay ahead. At the top of beautiful mountain in Alaska, my sister and I learned that the only path to the bottom was down a huge (I mean huge!) gravel mountainside. How do you hike down that? Well…you don’t. You run. My experienced friend told us, “It’s the only way to keep from falling.”
Sometimes with God, we have to run when we only ever wanted to walk. He calls us to things that are too big for us to handle on our own. It’s part of the privilege of living life WITH him and not FOR him. Kind of like prayer. If God knows our need and can answer with a thought alone, why pray? Is it that he can’t do it without us? Or is prayer the way He chooses to live WITH us, instead of FOR us? We are on a journey with a father that would rather know his children than write a check to solve their problems. So next time something seems too big, be brave and run down that gravel mountainside with Him. He will keep your foot from falling.

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Sept. 5, 2014 – From sports legends, to coaches, to entire sports teams excitement and praise continue to roll in for WHEN THE GAME STANDS TALL in theaters nationwide now.
Across the country as football season gets into full swing, jersey-clad teammates are seeing WHEN THE GAME STANDS TALL together. The film features Jim Caviezel (THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST, Person of Interest) as Coach Bob Ladouceur, who led his De La Salle High School Spartans to the nation’s longest win streak with a focus on commitment, character and giving a “perfect effort.”
“Coach Lad’s” teams posted a 151-game win streak that shattered all previous national records. Yet their toughest challenge was overcoming loss and tragedy to “stand tall.” Inspired by a true story, WHEN THE GAME STANDS TALL is a film about brotherly commitment besting adversity that inspires audiences of all ages.

MESSAGE FROM JONATHAN (posted to Facebook)
Hi Everybody,
First – thanks so much for your prayers. When The Harbinger was released, the enemy attacked in the form of a flood sweeping through our building. Now with the release of the new book, The Mystery of the Shemitah, the attack came this way:
Just as we approached the day of the release for the new book, I was rushed to the hospital. It turned out to be Pneumonia. I had to cancel all media appearances with the new book. But two days later I was rushed back to the hospital. I was finding it harder and harder to walk, agony to get up or sit down. I had to inch my way backwards to go down stairs. And then my hands started losing motion. I couldn’t even hold a glass or a phone to my ear. They admitted me to the hospital and ran tests. They were puzzled.
It turned out it was a rare case of pneumonia that attacks the muscular system. Toward the end of the week, there was a sudden turn around, the pain throughout my body disappeared. I could walk with no problem. The movement in my hands began to return, step by step. I was just released from the hospital.
Meanwhile, apparently the Lord doesn’t need my help! The Mystery of the Shemitah charted its first day as the number 5 book in the world! After 4 days, I was told it was already going into its third represent. And it has been breaking records set by The Harbinger.
I need you to pray now for this Wednesday night, I will be, God-willing, leading the first regular worship service in the Capitol Building in over a century. There will be Members of Congress, there, etc. The event was actually caused by The Harbinger. I plan to give a full prophetic word of warning concerning America.
So I really need your prayers.
Thanks God bless you!
Jonathan
