UPDATE on Black Mass planned for Oklahoma City

Satanic Priest Adam Daniels bragged publicly that he had obtained a consecrated host for use (i.e., desecration) in the Black Mass planned for next month, so Oklahoma City’s Archbishop Paul Coakley filed a lawsuit to get the host returned.

In the lawsuit, the Archbishop said that not only is the consecrated host the rightful property of the Catholic Church, it is literally priceless, because no value can be placed on the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Our Lord, Jesus Christ.

“The consecrated host, which has been obtained illicitly from a Catholic Church, is to be desecrated the vilest ways imaginable as an offering in sacrifice to Satan.” – Archbishop Coakley

The attorney representing Coakley explained in an article at Catholic Vote that the lawsuit was simple.

“A consecrated host only comes from the Catholic Church. Satanists acquired the host by theft or fraud – both of which are illegal ways of acquiring property. That means that the Satanists have a legal obligation to return the stolen property.”

The judge agreed.

Earlier today, an attorney representing the Satanic Church presented the host to a Catholic priest in Oklahoma City. With its return, Archbishop Coakley dismissed the lawsuit with prejudice.

August 4, 2014: Bishop Edward J. Slattery (Tulsa, OK) [4:30]

The fast Bishop Slattery asked for did not achieve (yet) outright cancellation, but as of yesterday, Daniels’ group had sold only 39 tickets to their blasphemous event. Please join us in praying God’s will be done.

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do thou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan, and all the evil spirits, who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Calling all Christians!

Our God is stronger than the Evil One!

Please consider entering into a special period of fasting and prayer to counter the powers and forces being unleashed by this event.

2014_09 21 Black Mass planned for OK

“(The Satanic black mass) blasphemes everything which we hold as sacred and redemptive; and the spiritual dangers it poses ought not be dismissed,” Bishop Edward J. Slattery of Tulsa wrote in a letter to the people of his diocese.

“Since the Civic Center has not responded positively to the pleas of the Archbishop of Oklahoma City not to host this event in a tax-payer supported public venue, I am asking the faithful Catholics in the Diocese of Tulsa to fight this blasphemy through prayer and fasting.”

God’s hand of discipline is a hand of love

All my prayers have been answered

Thank You, Lord, for showing me my hidden faults, for You treat me as Your dear child.  Help me surrender to Your cleansing work until the beauty of Jesus can be seen in me.

Our Daily Bread meditation by Poh Fang Chia

When I was a child I often had a toothache,” wrote C. S. Lewis in his classic book Mere Christianity. He continued, “and I knew that if I went to my mother she would give me something that would deaden the pain for that night and let me get to sleep. But I did not go to my mother — at least not till the pain became very bad. . . . I knew she would take me to the dentist the next morning. . . . I wanted immediate relief from pain, but I could not get it without having my teeth set permanently right.”

Similarly, we might not always want to go to God right away when we have a problem or are struggling in a certain area. We know that He could provide immediate relief from our pain, but He is more concerned with dealing with the root of the problem. We may be afraid that He will reveal issues that we are unprepared or unwilling to deal with.

In times like these, it is helpful to remind ourselves that the Lord “deals with [us] as with sons” (Heb 12:7). His discipline, though perhaps painful, is wise, and His touch is loving. He loves us too much to let us remain as we are; He wants to conform us to the likeness of His Son, Jesus (Rom 8:29).

God’s purposes of love can be trusted more than any of our emotions of fear.

Catholics respond with the power of prayer

When a group at Harvard announced they planned to hold a Satanic Black Mass ritual on Monday, May 12, 2014, Catholics responded by scheduling a Eucharistic Procession and Holy Hour for 8-9 PM at St. Paul’s Church to make reparation and to pray. These are my favorite photos from the event.

Part of Harvard President’s statement:

“Consistent with the University’s commitment to free expression, including expression that may deeply offend us, the decision to proceed is and will remain theirs. At the same time, we will vigorously protect the right of others to respond—and to address offensive expression with expression of their own. I plan to attend a Eucharistic Holy Hour and Benediction at St. Paul’s Church on our campus on Monday evening in order to join others in reaffirming our respect for the Catholic faith at Harvard and to demonstrate that the most powerful response to offensive speech is not censorship, but reasoned discourse and robust dissent.”

The Black Mass was canceled after its sponsor withdrew support and the group was unable to find any venue to host the event.

He knows your name

“Name” by Fireflight

Lyrics:

Seven days old in the ICU tonight Little baby boy
They don’t want to have to say goodbye
Your mother’s on the phone, your father’s in the hall
Praying, “God save his life”

He sees you, He’s near you
He knows your face
He knows your pain
He sees you, and He loves you
He knows your name
He knows your name

Four doors down
There’s a man who just won’t wake up
He crashed so hard
And the doctors want to pull the plug
Your wife is by your side, saying not tonight
Praying God will just show up

Maybe you’re alone
In the corner of an empty house
Or maybe you’re the one
No one notices in the crowd

A Century of Trial

In 1982, Mirjana (one of the seers at Medjugorje) reported that the Blessed Mother had told her:

You must realize that Satan exists. One day he appeared before the throne of God and asked permission to submit the Church to a period of trial. God gave him permission to try the Church for one century. This century is under the power of the devil; but when the secrets confided to you come to pass, his power will be destroyed.”

This wasn’t the first time we were given a message from God that Satan would be permitted up to a century to test the church. On October 13, 1884, just after Mass, Pope Leo XIII suddenly stopped at the foot of the altar and stood, as if in a trance, for about 10 minutes, his face ashen white. Immediately after, he went to his office and composed the Prayer to St. Michael.

Prayer to St Michael the Archangel

When asked what had happened, Pope Leo explained that he heard two voices – one kind and gentle, the other guttural and harsh. They seemed to come from near the tabernacle. As he listened, he heard the following conversation:

  • The guttural voice, the voice of Satan in his pride, boasted to Our Lord: I can destroy your Church.
  • The gentle voice of Our Lord: You can? Then go ahead and do so.
  • Satan: To do so, I need more time and more power.
  • Our Lord: How much time? How much power?
  • Satan: Seventy-five to 100 years, and a greater power over those who will give themselves over to my service.
  • Our Lord: You have the time; you will have the power. Do with them what you will.

It’s a lot like what happened in the story of Job. Satan asked for authority to try to destroy Job’s faith and God gave him the right to take everything from Job except his life. In short order, Job lost his property, his wife, his children and his health. But even when his so-called friends came to play Blame The Victim, Job refused to give up his faith. In the end, God restored Job’s health and wealth, then gave him a new wife and family.

“After this, Job lived a hundred and forty years; and he saw his children, his grandchildren, and even his great-grandchildren. Then Job died, old and full of years.” (Job 42:16-17)

I’ve pondered a lot about when Satan’s century began; I’ve found a whole lot of evidence for 1917.

October 13, 1917: The Miracle of the Sun at Fatima.

Exactly 33 years after Pope Leo XIII’s vision, extraordinary solar activity was witnessed by tens of thousands of people not only at the site of the Marian apparitions at Fátima, Portugal, but also miles away. Jesus was 33 years old when he was crucified and rose again.

1917: Russian Revolutions 1 and 2

One of the greatest tests the church has ever faced has been the rise of Atheistic Communism. As I explained in my blog “Vladimir Lenin and Our Lady of Fátima”, the timing of the Fatima apparitions coincides in an extraordinary way with the timing of the activities of Lenin and the German high command, activities that led directly to the takeover of Russia by Atheistic Communism.

In the 8th century before Christ, the prophet Isaiah prophesied about the coming of the Messiah. In particular, he predicted that the Jewish people would be regathered to their homeland.

“The Lord shall again take it in hand to reclaim the remnant of his people … and gather the outcasts of Israel. The dispersed of Judah he shall assemble from the four corners of the earth.” (Isaiah 11:11-12)

The worldwide regathering of the Jewish people to their homeland and the reestablishment of their state began in 1917.

November 2, 1917:  Five days before Lenin would lead the Bolshevik revolt, Great Britain announced in the Balfour Declaration that it intended to establish in Palestine “a national home for the Jewish people.” (N.b., Russia was still using the Julian Calendar at the time, so Russian references often date the revolution at October 25th, but in the west, that date was November 7, 1917.)

December 11, 1917: General Edmund Allenby liberated the city of Jerusalem from 400 years of Turkish rule.

If I’ve got this right, then the extra power Satan was granted to try to destroy the church will be taken away again in 2017.
