An Obama-era plan to have the federal government finance half of a $13 billion rail tunnel project ran into a red light Friday from the Trump administration.

Anti-Regime Protests Break Out Across Iran
The crowds drilled to chant ‘death to America’ went off the script and demanded the end of the Islamic regime instead. Videos show Iranians chanting ‘Death to the dictator’ and ‘Death to Rouhani’.
President Obama, busy cementing his ‘legacy’ with a Nuclear Deal with the Iranian regime, refused to show any support for the pro-democracy movement in Iran. He even threw a lifeline the Iranian regime at a time when international sanctions were finally beginning to show results.
As columnist Eli Lake explained, writing for the Bloomberg, “Obama wasn’t just reluctant to show solidarity in 2009, he feared the demonstrations would sabotage his secret outreach to Iran.”
“Obama from the beginning of his presidency tried to turn the country’s ruling clerics from foes to friends,” Lake added.
President Obama’s Nuclear Deal allowed Iran access to assets frozen in the US to the tune of $100 billion. The Obama administration even shipped $1.7 billion in cash to the regime, described as ‘settlement of old legal claim.’
With President Trump in office, those cash payments seem to have stopped. Buoyed by the cash flow thanks to Obama-Kerry Nuclear Deal, regime overstretched itself militarily, funding and manning pro-Iranian militia in Syria, Yemen and Lebanon. Those protesters are being buoyed by messages from the Trump administration, says the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), a coalition of democratic Iranian groups and personalities.
In two tweets earlier Saturday, President Donald Trump offered up a message of hope to the protesters: “The entire world understands that the good people of Iran want change, and, other than the vast military power of the United States, that Iran’s people are what their leaders fear the most…”
Trump added: “Oppressive regimes cannot endure forever, and the day will come when the Iranian people will face a choice. The World is watching!”
US ‘strongly condemns the arrest of peaceful protesters’ in Iran

Supreme Leader Tweets About Jesus, But Iran is One of World’s Worst Persecutors of Christians
Iran is also one of 10 countries currently designed “countries of particular concern” under U.S. law for egregious violations of religious freedom. Iran carries out more executions each year than any country apart from China, applying the death penalty for offenses including apostasy, insulting Mohammed and other “grand prophets,” moharebeh (enmity against Allah) and “corruption on earth.”
Just two weeks before Christmas, however, the independent Iranian Christian news agency Mohabat News reported that security forces raided six houses in Karaj, Iran’s fourth-largest city, where Christians hold house church services.
It said four converts to Christianity were arrested and that shops owned by two of the men were also raided. Four of the Christians received ten year prison sentences, after being convicted of engaging in missionary activities and “conducting activities against national security,” Christian Solidarity Worldwide reported at the time.

Iran Starts Killing Protesters, ABC Ignores While CBS and NBC Downplay

Disgustingly, the deaths didn’t trigger much air on the three major American networks. ABC’s Good Morning America had a blackout of the deaths and protests all together while NBC only found 24 seconds for them. CBS finally discovered the protests, as they continued into their fourth day, dedicating a meager 16 seconds.
Instead of allowing serious time for the brutal murders of Iranian civilians and the protests, whose marchers have been chanting “Death to Rouhani” and “We don’t want an Islamic republic,” NBC’s Sunday Today ran a four minute and 37 seconds long highlight reel of the media slamming and smearing President Trump from this past year.

Two unnamed judges told BuzzFeed News that they have concerns about the temperament of Trump’s judicial candidates, despite the fact that the overwhelming majority of his nominees attained approving reviews from legal trade associations.

All eyes on Sen. Hatch as he weighs reelection bid
The political spotlight is shifting to longtime Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) as he considers whether to run for reelection in 2018. They have showered praise on the powerful Senate Finance Committee chairman for helping to shepherd the GOP’s tax overhaul through the upper chamber.
Much of the intrigue surrounding Hatch’s decision is centered on Mitt Romney, who reportedly plans to run for the seat if Hatch retires. If Hatch retires, Romney would become the immediate front-runner and would be expected to clear the field for the seat.
Trump and Romney have had a contentious relationship over the years. Romney waged a public campaign to stop Trump’s nomination in 2016. In one speech, he called Trump a “phony” and a “fraud.” More recently, Romney denounced failed Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore hours after Trump endorsed him.

The Post Christmas Letdown
Children anxiously await the day for months. Weeks of shopping, cleaning, decorating, wrapping, and cooking. In a half hour, it’s over. There’s New Years Eve, if you’re into partying, and New Years Day for parades and football games. After that comes 3 or 4 months of vast, empty wasteland.
It was -2 degrees when I went to deliver my papers this morning. In a previous life, I’d go to work with a truck with a diesel engine frozen solid and a cab that never got warm. The wet floor mats I changed would stick to the floor making it sooo much fun to unload. Those times are, thankfully, in my rear view mirror.
We have a mixed bag today, since I’m a little sluggish from overeating with family and friends yesterday. For having beautiful grandchildren and a wife who can cook, it’s a price I’m glad to pay.

Through the daily assault on our faith, our morals, and our way of life, we need reminders from time to time that God has got this. Trust in Him and we’ll be OK. This Christmas is especially joyful because Israel has a powerful new ally.

Wreaths Across America caravan begins annual journey from Maine to Arlington
The Wreaths Across America caravan departed Sunday from Columbia Falls, where the wreaths were made. It’ll travel through Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland and Washington D.C., before arriving in a week in Arlington, Virginia.

The tradition began when Maine wreath maker Morrill Worcester donated 5,000 wreaths to Arlington Cemetery. This year, there will be more than 200,000 of them placed at Arlington alone. A total of 1.2 million wreaths will be placed on markers across the country in 1,238 locations.
World War II Mansfield veteran gets a boost from firefighters

Decorated World War II veteran Walter Gilbert and his wife Mary are both 95 and still manage to live in their own home. But they have some mobility issues, including difficulty with stairs, such as the ones from their home.
About a half-dozen firefighters left their regular shift Friday morning and headed over to the couple’s West Street home to install a ramp Veterans Agent Michael Raymond was able to get for the Gilberts.
One of the reasons Gilbert needs the ramp is because of injuries to his legs he suffered in the war.
Terry said he sat down and talked to Gilbert, learning he endured about 180 days of combat, and was wounded twice. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge where he took shrapnel.
Despite his service to our country and what he went through, Gilbert is humble and gracious for the support from the town.
When told he deserved it after his service he said, “Well I don’t know about that.”

Between the early 1950s and the late 2000s, the proportion of births from unwed pregnancies increased from 10 to almost 50 percent. Similarly, the rate of births to previously unwed couples who married after conception but before birth was 43 percent in the early 1960s; it dropped steadily to nine percent in the late 2000s.
The other most significant factor is the vanishing of the so-called “shotgun marriage,” the sequence of events where a woman becomes pregnant, and then she and the father of the child are socially pressured into tying the knot.

84-Year-Old Korean War vet kills one home intruder in point-blank shot, sends second one running

Presidents have long hesitated to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel because,they claimed,it would impede a “two state solution.” The reality is, there are NOT TWO STATES! Hamas plans ‘day of rage’ in response to Trump’s Jerusalem decision
Terror group Hamas is calling for a “day of rage” Friday, urging Palestinians to protest President Donald Trump’s plan to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and move the U.S. Embassy there from Tel Aviv.

Juanita Broaddrick and Kathleen Willey stormed Senator Al Franken’s D.C. office Wednesday, demanding the embattled lawmaker resign over multiple sexual harassment allegations against him. Reporter Melanie Morgan, a Franken accuser, joined Broaddrick and Willey. Of course, Broaddrick and Willey are two of former President Bill Clinton’s most famous accusers.
After a few minutes of waiting for Franken, Morgan shouts, “Don’t be a coward, come out and talk to us!”

Franken’s handlers then tell the women that he’s busy and will not have time to meet with them, prompting Morgan to recount allegations against the then-comedian. Franken allegedly stalked Morgan after they disagreed on the OMB’s budget numbers during a taping of ABC’s late night show Politically Incorrect in 2000.
Capitol Hill police then show up to Franken’s office, demanding the group of women leave.

Case shows judges matter
“A U.S. District Court judge in Washington on Tuesday handed a big victory to President Donald Trump, ruling in favor of the administration in its bid to install White House budget director Mick Mulvaney as acting director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau,” Politico reported this evening.
When Trump took office, he issued two executive orders to halt travel with seven, and then six, countries. Obama appointees blocked the orders. The Supreme Court eventually stepped in and let the orders go through, unmolested.
That was judicial activism. Those Obama-nauts exceeded their authority.

Arizona Rep. Raul Grijalva’s secret deal with a former female staffer was revealed by The Washington Times on Monday. The payout was negotiated by the House Employment Counsel, the body’s attorney, and cost taxpayers $48,395.

Israeli officials are reportedly expecting US President Donald Trump to make a landmark announcement in the coming days regarding the move of the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem and recognizing the highly-sensitive holy city as Israel’s capital, according to a local TV report on Wednesday.
The report comes just a day after Trump’s vice-president Mike Pence stated that the President was “actively considering” how and when to move the US embassy.

Team Hillary Clinton cheers Matt Lauer’s firing, says he was mean to her

Lauer came under fire from Team Clinton after he repeatedly pressed the Democratic presidential nominee in a live candidate forum about her controversial emails sent as secretary of state through a private server.
His tactics were called sexist.

CNN’s Jim Acosta ROASTED for Fake ‘Fact Check’ About ‘Pocahontas’ Being a Racial Slur
CNN’s Jim Acosta never learns. Instead of reporting the facts, something Acosta’s network is challenged at doing, the “reporter,” tries to play ‘Mr. Moral Authority,’ and fails every single time.
After Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders denied the term ‘Pocahontas,’ used by the President in reference to Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) at an event with Navajo Code Talkers, Acosta ‘fact checked,’ that the term is in fact racist. Acosta provided no proof of a fact check, of course.
“WH press sec says “Pocahontas” is not a racial slur. (Fact check: it is.),” tweeted Acosta.
After Acosta’s non-existent fact check, he was roasted on Twitter.
