BEAUTY BREAK: [3:18] – Nisha is an inspiration.

BOLTON: On October 16, John Bolton, who served as President Donald Trump’s national security adviser during the president’s first term, was indicted on 18 counts under the Espionage Act. Federal prosecutors allege that between April 9, 2018 and August 22, 2025, Bolton shared more than a thousand pages of information about his day-to-day activities as the National Security Advisor including information relating to the national defense which was classified up to the TOP SECRET/SCI level — with two unauthorized individuals.

DEMOCRATS: Republicans put forward a stand-alone bill to ensure military pay during the shutdown. The only Senate Democrats to cross the aisle to vote with the GOP were Sens. John Fetterman (PA), Catherine Cortez Masto (NV), and Jeanne Shaheen (NH).

EDUCATION: [3:43] – This UNC-Asheville student joined both College Democrats and Turning Point USA.

EVERYDAY HEROES: “This woman, Kaylen, at Sports Clips in Charleston did more for my heart than she will probably ever realize. Haircuts with Isaiah are no small feat. He hates having anything near his ears, the sound of clippers sends him into a tailspin…this evening was no different. I was ready to give up, but she wasn’t. She sat on the floor with my baby in her lap, and she cut his hair. They talked about Dory and Christmas, and she even let him spray her with her water bottle. Autism can be so very, very hard, but people like this make our days just a little easier.” Credit: Jennifer McCafferty

ICE: During a three-day operation in September along Interstate 40 in Oklahoma, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents detained 120 illegal immigrants for immigration-related offenses. At least 91 of them held a commercial driver’s license (CDL*)and were operating a commercial motor vehicle.

*A CDL allows a driver to operate a large, hazardous, or heavy motor vehicle for business purposes, including tractor trailers, tank trucks, and buses.

MILITARY: SecDef Pete has ordered some of the National Guardsmen who deployed to Illinois to go back home cuz they’re fat, not fit.

SMITH: On October 16, a group of GOP lawmakers, led by Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.), sent a letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi, asking her office to refer former special counsel Jack Smith to the Department of Justice (DOJ) for alleged misconduct and possible disbarment. Their complaint centers on Smith having engaged in a “weaponized witch hunt” during which the Biden DOJ subpoenad their cell phone records.

SPIRITUAL WARFARE: The monastery where St. Carlo Acutis received his First Holy Communion in 1998 was almost completely destroyed by fire on October 11. The 21 cloistered nuns who live in the 17th century facility outside Milan escaped without harm and were able to save some paintings and a relic of the saint. The cause of the blaze is unknown.

During the discussion, my sibs said lunch theft from lockers was not uncommon in the high school. My father opined that he’d make a dog doo sandwich and put that in his locker.

WOMEN’S SPORTS: After three years of courtroom battles, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) is finally doing the right thing and stripping “Lia” Thomas of all of his swimming medals.

Esemplastic and eclectic both relate to the idea of combining or synthesizing elements, but they differ significantly in their meaning and usage.

The key difference is that esemplastic refers to an imaginative or creative combining of diverse elements into a unified whole, whereas eclectic describe a mix-and-match approach that doesn’t necessarily produce a single whole.

A chef with an esemplastic approach might blend ingredients from different cuisines to create a novel, unified dish with a distinct flavor. E.g., Italian pizza with Hawaiian pineapple and Canadian bacon.

A chef with an eclectic approach might serve a menu with dishes from various cuisines side by side, each retaining its distinct style. E.g., Japanese sushi rolls with Mediterranean cucumber feta salad.

And he had the idea of praying for that person! Anyway, we were watching something today and I noticed him doing the Sign of the Cross, bowing his head in silent prayer and then a minute later another Sign of the Cross after each of the couple times we heard someone take our Lord’s name in vain. Typing this out, I am remembering what he said about praying for that person. I usually say a silent ‘How great Thou art’ or something similar. Gotta remember to pray for the blasphemer!” Yup. Democrats

Last fall, Oprah Winfrey said that, if Trump won, women could very well lose the right to vote.

CLICK https://www.youtube.com/shorts/4k5M8E_1uOk [:21] to hear it.

I asked Grok, “What would it take for women in the USA to lose the right to vote?” The extensive answer is below.

For women in the USA to lose the right to vote, a constitutional amendment would be required to repeal or modify the 19th Amendment, which grants women suffrage. This process is deliberately difficult and involves the following steps:

  1. Proposal: A constitutional amendment must be proposed either by a two-thirds vote in both the House of Representatives and the Senate or by a constitutional convention called by two-thirds of state legislatures (34 out of 50 states). The convention method has never been used.
  2. Ratification: The proposed amendment must then be ratified by three-fourths of the states (38 out of 50), either through state legislatures or state ratifying conventions, as specified by Congress.

Key Considerations:

  • Legal and Political Barriers: The 19th Amendment, ratified in 1920, is entrenched in U.S. law. Any attempt to repeal it would face significant opposition, as voting rights are a cornerstone of democratic principles. Courts, including the Supreme Court, would likely scrutinize any legislation or actions restricting voting rights under existing constitutional protections, such as the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment.
  • Practical Challenges: Public opinion strongly supports universal suffrage. Mobilizing the required supermajorities in Congress or among states to propose and ratify such a change would be nearly impossible given current political and cultural norms. Women make up roughly half the electorate, and their voting power would influence lawmakers against supporting such a measure.
  • Historical Precedent: No constitutional amendment granting rights has ever been repealed. The closest example is the 21st Amendment, which repealed Prohibition (18th Amendment), but that addressed a policy issue, not a fundamental right.

Hypothetical Scenarios:

  • Extreme Political Shift: A drastic change in political ideology, such as the rise of an authoritarian regime or a supermajority of lawmakers opposed to women’s suffrage, would be necessary. This would require a level of political upheaval unprecedented in modern U.S. history.
  • State-Level Restrictions: States could attempt to restrict voting access through laws (e.g., voter ID requirements, felony disenfranchisement, or gerrymandering), but these would not explicitly target women’s right to vote and would likely face legal challenges under federal law, including the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
  • Judicial Overreach: A Supreme Court ruling reinterpreting the 19th Amendment in a way that undermines its protections could theoretically occur, but this is highly unlikely given precedent and the amendment’s clear language.

Conclusion: Repealing women’s right to vote would require an extraordinary and improbable combination of legislative, judicial, and societal changes. It would face massive resistance, legal challenges, and public backlash, making it effectively unattainable under current conditions.

SCOFFLAW: NY Attorney General Letitia James has been indicted for mortgage fraud for having claimed a house in Virginia as her primary residence for the purposes of obtaining a more favorable loan. In June 2025, a relative of James named Nakia Thompson (left) testified before a federal grand jury that she has occupied the property for years with her three children, that she neither pays rent nor contributes to maintenance and that James visits several times a year.

While it may be commendable of James to provide housing to her needy relatives, it should be pointed out that, as an attorney, Letitia James took an oath to uphold the law. Nakia Thompson (36) has a long history of criminal violations, including burglary, grand larceny, possession of burglary tools, and child endangerment-related traffic offenses.

Because she is wanted in North Carolina for parole violations, AG Letitia “No one is above the law” James has been harboring a wanted fugitive. N.b., while this accusation has not been proven in court, it has been substantiated by court documents, probation records, and grand jury testimony.

GRETA THUNBERG: Quoth the Raven asks, “When protest becomes indistinguishable from performance, what’s the real priority — the cause, or the spotlight?”

“Thunberg’s activism depends on saying everything as loudly and as often as possible — with maximum camera coverage. … [But] Greta has never risked more than her comfort. She has not sacrificed her safety, her health, or her future. Consumers appreciate the agents’ ability to explain options clearly, answer questions thoroughly, and provide support without any pressure. People also value the caring and helpful attitude of the staff, who are dedicated to finding the best coverage to meet individual needs.

“Many reviewers found the company’s website and social media resources, particularly the YouTube videos, to be extremely informative and helpful in understanding Medicare. Consumers felt well-prepared for their appointments after watching these videos. The booking process received mixed feedback, but overall, reviewers were satisfied with the service and support they received from the company.”

BOONDOGGLE: In 2011, the Ivanpah Solar Power Facility in California’s Mojave Desert received $1.6 billion in taxpayer-backed loans. President Obama’s first energy secretary, Ernest Moniz, hailed it as “an example of how America is becoming a world leader in solar energy.“

Covering five square miles, the facility featured three 459-foot towers and 173,500 computer-controlled mirrors designed to reflect sunlight to a receiver mounted on top of a tower containing a fluid that heated up and powered a conventional steam turbine.

The heat generated by the mirrors also elevated the air temperatures as high as 1,000 degrees, incinerating approximately 6,000 bird deaths each year. Since this only happens during daylight hours, the facility charbroils more than one bird per hour. Yoiks!

Besides slaughtering the wildlife, the device proved too inefficient to compete with conventional solar panels and is shutting down more than a decade ahead of its original 2039 closure date. The $1.6 billion federal loan that We The Taxpayers got stuck guaranteeing has not been repaid.

One morning in 1952, she grabbed a pen and paper and designed a five-point test measuring heart rate, breathing, muscle tone, reflex response, and skin color. She called it the Apgar Score. Within a decade, almost every hospital in America was using it. Infant mortality fell sharply. Her test now guides every delivery room on Earth.

Today, Democrats are claiming they have shut down the government because health insurance is unaffordable. This is because the actual effects of The Affordable Care Act (aka Obamacare) have been to cause insurance premiums to rise and to decrease the number of insurance options. As per usual, the name Democrats put on a bill predicted the exact opposite of what the bill would accomplished when passed into law.

From here on, Dominion Voting Systems will be known as Liberty Vote. Funny thing that. Dominion means supreme authority. Liberty means the power of choice. Hmmm…

Nobody ever proved that the Dominion company itself was liable for fraud or misconduct in the 2020 election. However, the machines were demonstrably easy to hack, leading to widespread belief that Democrat operatives did steal the election. Liberty Vote plans a “top-down” review of Dominion’s equipment, including rebuilding or retiring machines; it emphasizes “100% American ownership” and aims to rebuild trust in elections.

DAILY PRAYER: Dear Lord, Please bless all married couples with peace, patience, and spiritual growth. In Jesus’ Name, we pray. Amen.

EVERYDAY: Mary’s 82-year-old great uncle asked her what she wanted for Christmas. She told him a yarn bowl, figuring he’d just buy one from a craft store. HISTORY: In 1856, Mary Ann Brown Patten was only 19 years old when she boarded the clipper ship Neptune’s Car with her husband, Captain Joshua Patten. When her husband fell ill and collapsed, Mary took command and, using the navigation skills her husband had taught her, safely guided the ship and her entire crew for a grueling 56 days. Peter Heck at Not The Bee makes a good point: “The Christian pursuit of goodness isn’t about earning heaven; it’s about reflecting the character of the One who saved us. We obey not to prove ourselves to God, but because we belong to Him.

“So yes, Trump deserves immense credit for recognizing that a society without God cannot sustain virtue. But let’s also be clear: God isn’t measuring goodness like a cosmic scorekeeper. He’s offering redemption through Christ to all who recognize they aren’t good enough.

“That’s the paradox of real faith: Goodness begins not with proving ourselves, but with admitting we can’t.”

NEW YORK SUCKS: ICE arrested “No Name Given in Oklahoma. This illegal alien holds a New York State Commercial Driver’s License, allowing him to drive semis and transport hazardous materials.

DAILY PRAYER: Dear Lord, Please grant us all the graces we need to be generous to those you place in our paths. We pray in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

BORDER: CLICK https://x.com/Timcast/status/1976856663908139342 [1:40] to hear Don Lemon condescendingly “explain” that illegal entry by an alien is just a misdemeanor, which is “not a criminal act.”

1) Violating 8 U.S. Code § 1325 – Improper entry by alien is only a misdemeanor for a first offense by someone who has never been convicted of a crime. After that, it’s a felony.

2) A misdemeanor is considered a criminal act.

CHARLIE KIRK: CLICK https://www.facebook.com/reel/731532573018225 to hear him talk about IVF. I agree that everyone should read Brave New World. It was definitely one of the most impactful books I have ever read.

EVERYDAY HEROES: CLICK https://www.youtube.com/shorts/bt1o5dG8Yxg to see a bus driver rescue a lost toddler. She stayed with the child until officers with the Tampa Police Department arrived to locate the child’s family and return him.

FIRST LADY: [5:33] – On Friday, Melania Trump announced that, thanks to her efforts, eight Ukrainian children who were displaced during the country’s ongoing war with Russia have been reunited with their families.

HISTORY: One of the displays inside the Museum of the Second World War in Gdańsk, Poland, is a collection of suitcases that once belonged to “undesirables” taken to Nazi death camps.

JAMES: CLICK https://x.com/libsoftiktok/status/1976521792509649387 [:22] to hear a CNN talking head claim that everyone in American commits mortgage fraud. Something similar could be said about business owners tending to overvalue their business assets when applying for bank loans.

CLICK https://x.com/thecjpearson/status/1976701878701637979 [:36] to hear an MSNBC talking head make an absurd claim. CJ Pearson asks, “Is he aware that we were all in fact alive the last four years?

LIFE: Chase and Cooper were identical twins who were miscarried at 22 weeks. Their mother chose to share their photos, saying, “I want people to know that this is what a 22-week-old child looks like.”

MASSATWOSHITS: A Christian couple from Woburn, Massachusetts has lost their license to foster children because they refused to sign a gender affirming policy form from the Department of Children and Families (DCF).

Since 2020, Lydia and Heath Marvin have have fostered eight different children under the age of 4. Their most recent foster child was a baby with complex medical needs who stayed with them for 15 months.

Last week, the Trump administration sent a letter to DCF, addressing the lawsuit and specifically mentioning the Marvins. The Massachusetts Family Institute and Alliance Defending Freedom has also filed a federal lawsuit against DCF regarding this issue.

MIDDLE EAST: [10:06] – The hostages are coming back on Monday!

MIRACLE: CLICK https://www.youtube.com/shorts/9O7dMweIaqs to hear Lee Strobel tell the story of Barbara Snyder’s instantaneous healing from multiple sclerosis.

PANTS ON FIRE: CLICK https://x.com/EricLDaugh/status/1976711457753776141 [:50] to hear House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries frame the Schumer Shutdown as “Republicans voting to gut health care.”

PRAYER for OUR NATION: Dear Lord, In this time of division and moral decay, we pray in Jesus’ Name that all people, families, institutions, and leaders receive Your perfect and holy guidance. Amen.

RIFs: [8:49] – Currently, more than 4,000 federal employees have received termination notices. Federal employees are entitled to 60 days written notice before separation (termination), although this can be shortened to 30 days with approval from the Office of Personnel Management (OPM). N.b., it is the OPM that is currently in charge.

While these RIF (Reduction in Force) notices begin upon notification, they run independently of the shutdown. Federal employees who receive RIF notices will be out of their jobs once their notification period ends. If the shutdown ends prior to that date, they will receive retroactive pay for any days they were on furlough.

Unless their agencies voluntarily rescind their notice, they will be required to return to work for the remaining notice time to wrap up affairs or perform limited transition work. Since Trump has prioritized cutting the federal work force and all the department heads are his people, this is unlikely.

Some employees can appeal to the Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB) within 30 days of separation, potentially delaying enforcement or seeking reinstatement with backpay. And some RIFs include buyouts or early retirement incentives.

SHUTDOWN: CLICK https://x.com/ThomasMHern/status/1976843713570914623 to hear a Democrat ignore three facts: (1) The Republican majority in the Senate is not big enough to pass the CR. (2) The CR is clean, so there’s nothing the Republicans can offer to take out to appease the Democrats who, for their part, are demanding $1.5 trillion in excess spending. (3) Extending subsidies is something that can be debated during the extension the CR would grant our legislators to do the job they failed to get done before the deadline. PRAYER: Dear Lord, Bless us with the graces we need to be strong and courageous as we face today’s challenges. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

BEAUTY BREAK: [6:35] – Stay to the end so you don’t miss how wildly successful was her invitation to create star quilt blocks to go with hers for the 40th International Quilt Festival back in 2014.

BORDER: CLICK https://x.com/TPostMillennial/status/1737131885958996219 [:42] for a flash back to 2023.

CHARLIE KIRK: CLICK https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1073649551620488 [3:08] to hear him respond to a college student’s unbelievably ignorant statements about the Constitution. There is zero excuse for anyone to be this stupid in this day and age. I found this with a few keystrokes: https://constitution.congress.gov/constitution/.

COMEY: Former FBI Director James Comey is charged with making false statements and obstructing a congressional hearing related to the Trump-Russia probe. He has pleaded “not guilty.”

EVERYDAY HEROES: In 1968, Japan Airlines pilot Kohei Asoh mistakenly landed a DC-8 jet several miles short of San Francisco International Airport, right into the shallow waters of the bay. Miraculously, all passengers survived, and the aircraft was later salvaged. But what stood out most was Asoh’s response during the investigation.

When asked what went wrong, Asoh gave a blunt, unvarnished answer: “As you Americans say, I f–ked up.” His honesty stunned officials, contrasting sharply with the usual evasions and technical jargon common in aviation mishaps. He took full responsibility without deflecting blame or offering excuses.

This rare act of candor became known as the “Asoh defense”, a term now used in business, law, and leadership to describe the power of owning one’s mistakes directly. It’s a reminder that accountability, even when uncomfortable, can build trust and credibility faster than spin or denial.

GENEALOGY: In Somerset, England, archaeologists uncovered the remains of a 9,100-year-old skeleton inside a cave at Cheddar Gorge. The ancient individual, nicknamed “Cheddar Man,” is one of Britain’s oldest known skeletons and provides an invaluable glimpse into life during the Mesolithic period, shortly after the last Ice Age.

In a groundbreaking study, scientists extracted and analyzed DNA from Cheddar Man’s remains. To their surprise, they discovered that a local schoolteacher named Adrian Targett, who lives in the very same town, is a direct descendant of this ancient Briton. Their shared family link stretches back an astonishing 300 generations, proving an unbroken line of ancestry in the same region for nearly ten millennia.

JAMES: New York Attorney General Letitia James has been indicted by a grand jury in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern Court of Virginia on one count of bank fraud and one count of making false statements in connection to property she owns in Norfolk, Virginia.

JONES: Jay Jones, candidate for AG of Virginia, is getting a pass from his fellow Dems for wishing death on his opponent. Since the story broke, the big 4 public networks have devoted a combined minute and 3 seconds to the story. If the Republican candidate had been the one exposed for wishing death on his opponent, he’d be a household name.

MOZAMBIQUE: More than 30 Christians have been beheaded at the hands of Islamic State terrorists in Mozambique. I googled “Mozambique” and got only one link to this story (below). [6:35] – Revelation 6:9-11 – Fifth Seal: The Cry of the Martyrs – “When He opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the testimony which they held. And they cried with a loud voice, saying, “How long, O Lord, holy and true, until You judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?” Then a white robe was given to each of them; and it was said to them that they should rest a little while longer, until both the number of their fellow servants and their brethren, who would be killed as they were, was completed.”

PRAYER for OUR NATION: Dear Lord, Send Your angels to guard our land and grant wisdom to our security forces. In Jesus’ Name, we pray. Amen.

SCIENCE: Doctors at Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital in South Korea implanted a 3D-printed, bioengineered windpipe into a woman who had lost part of her trachea during thyroid cancer surgery. The 5-cm windpipe was made from a biodegradable polymer scaffold infused with stem cells and cartilage cells. The design lets it function as a living organ rather than a mere replacement part. Six months after surgery, her body began forming new blood vessels and tissue within the implant. Doctors believe that in a few years, the synthetic scaffold will naturally dissolve, leaving behind a fully regenerated, patient-grown trachea.
