AMERICAN HISTORY: On March 1, 1971, a bomb exploded in the Capitol building in Washington, D.C., causing an estimated $300,000 in damage. The Weather Underground claimed responsibility. In his 2001 memoir, Fugitive Days, former Weatherman and long-time Obama supporter, Bill Ayers, claimed he had been involved.

The “Weathermen” were a radical, violent faction of the Marxist Students for a Democratic Society (SDS). The group, which favored arson and bombings as a means of protesting what they perceived to be wrong with American society, detonated bombs at the U.S. State Department and at the Pentagon, as well as dozens of other sites across the U.S. Their bombs were always preceded by telephoned warnings and the only casualties were three of their own who were killed while make explosives in 1969.

TRANS: Former New Hampshire state Rep. Stacie Laughton was lauded as the first openly transgender person to be elected to a state legislature. After his former partner, Lindsay Groves, admitted taking sexually explicit photos of male and female children, ages 3 to 5 years, at the Massachusetts day care where she worked and sending them to Laughton, he pleaded guilty. Officials say Laughton asked Groves for the photos and the two exchanged more than 10,000 text messages about them, then showed them to other adults. In one of the texts, Laughton allegedly wrote about having oral sex with a girl, only to have Groves note, “She’s not even 3 yet.” Laughton replied, “Do you think God would be OK with me being a minister?” to which Groves replied, “I think God will be OK with all of that.” Laughton was supposed to have been sentenced on February 12, 2026, but the details have not been made public.

I’m still not sure how any of that adds up to “fine.” I worked with her for 6 months to get my digestion working properly. When I asked my primary why he hadn’t told me I had esophageal erosion, he looked genuinely shocked and quickly called up the test results on his computer. He had never looked at them, but had just taken the “everything was fine” summary at face value.

Our agents confirmed that Mr. Shah Alam entered the United States as a refugee on December 24, 2024, and was not amenable to removal. Border Patrol agents offered him a courtesy ride, which he chose to accept to a coffee shop, determined to be a warm, safe location near his last known address, rather than be released directly from the Border Patrol station. He showed no signs of distress, mobility issues, or disabilities requiring special assistance.”

Reports also state the man died as a result of a pre-existing medical condition that had no thing to do with him being dropped off at a donut shop at his request.

CHURCH INVASION: A federal grand jury in Minnesota indicted nine individuals on felony charges, including conspiracy against rights of religious freedom at a place of worship and injuring, intimidating, or interfering with the exercise of religious freedom (via force, threat, or obstruction). All nine have pleaded not guilty and the cases are proceeding to trial. [8:25] – Jonathan Parnell, the pastor of the church that Don Lemon et al. invaded on January 18, has spoken about his experience. He said he had been attempting to read aloud from the Bible when “several individuals scattered throughout the sanctuary rose together and, like a flash mob, converged with chants and clenched fists.” When the mob shouted, “Hands up! Don’t shoot!” that led worshipers to flee, “fearing it was an active shooter situation.”

“In that instant, I interpreted what was going on: this was about provocation, intimidation, and spectacle. They were here to incite violence. The spiritual dimension of it all came into focus. A malevolent darkness was behind this—the same darkness behind the murder of pre-born children, and the mutilation of children’s bodies, and the manipulation of children’s minds. Those were all evils our children had escaped, so now the weapon was terror.

HOW JESUS DID IT: [16:28] – I wish I’d heard this 50 years ago. I grew up with bullies and vowed to never be one, because I knew first hand how much it hurt. But I believed my only other option was to suck it up and be a silent, smiling doormat. In therapy, I finally learned about boundaries, but it was not in a biblical context. However, what my therapist taught me amounted to what Kris says here – refusing retaliation while confronting rather than submitting to the abuse. One of the beauties of doing this has been that it quickly exposed which people were worth keeping in my life. The bullies and narcissists responded to boundary setting by icing me out. The genuinely lovely people responded with dialogue and relational growth.

About Guardian Angels

“The silence was full of angels” [23:24] – This wonderful message reminds me of a couple of experiences I’ve had with total strangers. In one, a man sat down next to me and began pouring his heart out about his spiritual struggles. What he was going through was what I had just been going through myself, so I had Bible verses and personal answers to prayer fresh in my mind. In the other, a woman in a parking lot started crying and telling me how she had miscarried, but because she was unmarried, none of the people in her life would let her grieve. I didn’t say much, just folded her into my arms and let her weep on my shoulder. I had never seen either of those people before and have never seen them since. But now I know how they happened to choose me!

AMERICAN HISTORY: Our first president, George Washington, was born on February 22, 1732, in Westmoreland County, Virginia Colony.

CATHOLIC: About 350,000 people have registered to venerate the relics of St. Francis of Assisi — the first public display of the bodily remains of the beloved saint. From Feb. 22 to March 22, the Lower Basilica of St. Francis in Assisi will welcome pilgrims from around the world who will come to the Italian city to pray before the body of the man whom ecclesial tradition has described as “the living mirror of the Gospel.”

The event marks a moment of great historical and spiritual importance on the 800th anniversary of the saint’s death. For the first time, his body will be transferred from its resting place in an underground chapel and placed in front of the papal altar in the Lower Basilica. TARIFFS: The Supreme Court has ruled that the law Trump was invoking to issue many of his tariffs doesn’t actually give him that authority. The ruling was a 6-3 decision, with Thomas, Kavanaugh and Alito dissenting. So Trump signed an executive order imposing tariffs based on a different law.
