GRAMMY NOTES: Our theory is that the pyramid is actually a 3D shape, like a three legged stool. One leg is the husband, one is the wife, and the third is the marriage. The needs and wants of each must be kept in balance with God sitting on the stool. And what that means is that if there aren’t conservative treatments, elevation, compression, medication, if needed, to treat accompanying ulcers or skin changes, it can worsen and actually put a person at risk for deep venous thrombosis.”

Ooh, scary. Also beside the point, since POTUS is obviously getting the best care possible. I mean, the man doesn’t even drink wine. Does anyone think he won’t wear the stupid stockings or prop his feet up? Sheesh.

The other problem with CNN’s report is that, while Dr. Pernell does have an M.D., she apparently has not practiced medicine since completing her training. Her bio says her work “focuses on health justice, community-based advocacy, and population-wide health promotion and disease prevention.” It also calls her “a celebrated visionary and apostle of public health,” for whatever that’s worth.

Jon Levine says she is “a frequent television doctor on CNN and other news stations,” but that her real work is in promoting “diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives.” IOW, she’s a political activist who camouflages her racist agenda as “protecting public health.”

Dear Mom,

Hello! I have a question/favor to ask. I’m working on a case study/proposal for one of my classes to show how an existing non-profit operating in Kosovo could add a Life Center to their portfolio – why they should, how it could happen.

For my final I’m working on a presentation. I’m thinking about opening the presentation by humanizing the issue. Kosovo doesn’t have any life centers in the country and the number one client for abortion tend to be young mothers who already have 1-2 children, and are struggling financially. Kosovo has the highest rate of unemployment in Europe and the lowest GDP. Culturally pregnancy issues are not spoken of. Only healthy pregnancies that happen within a marriage are acceptable to discuss. There are approximately 10 Life centers in all of the Balkans providing counseling to women in scary pregnancy situations.

This encompasses unplanned pregnancies, post-abortion trauma, miscarriages, and infertility grief. It seems these centers are one of the only places women in the Balkans know they can really go and talk to someone about their fear. Unless they seek out an abortion facility – also quiet and not discussed. My current thought to open and close with – is to show how important it is to have someone to talk to about your fears, and someone to help you through the hard times and know that there is someone there who will listen, take your concerns seriously and help you find solutions.

Doing the research made me think of you and Daddy when you found out you were pregnant with [our baby sister]. If you’re comfortable with it, I was thinking about showing a family photo of the four of us before she was born and introducing the family and stating two small children, financial concerns and then added to that – the health concern. Highlighting how important it was that you had people to support you, to pray for you, and to help you through. And then show a photo of her in her Marine uniform and mother of four. That the support you received when you were pregnant, didn’t just result in a baby. It resulted in a life that impacted many, a life that supported the future of the country and a life that continues to add goodness and hope into the world.

That’s my idea. But I realize it is really personal and while it is anonymous – I wouldn’t want to do that without your permission. If you’re okay with it, could you send me some photos from that year? Love you! And thank you for raising us with such great awareness on Life.

  1. May 1985 – Army Princess, me, Dearest when he (finally) finished his B.Arch. degree. I am extremely hypersensitive to progesterone, which is 8x higher during pregnancy; I am also Rh-sensitized, so my first two were Rh babies. We were not supposed to have another child, but God had other ideas. When we found out I was pregnant, Dearest had just embarked on his third try at finishing his degree; he was working full time and his very generous boss had not only granted him time to go to classes, but had paid half the tuition! For months of the pregnancy, I was in a tremendous amount of pain and wasn’t able to walk further than the bathroom. Our two little ones (born November 1981 and October 1983) were in full time day care until Daddy got home from work, then he had to do all the household and child care everything while trying to finish his degree.
  2. June 1985 – #3 hit the danger zone for Rh disease at around 22 or 24 weeks, so I had to have 7 amnios. The irritation in my uterus caused premature labor; the drug I had to take made me sicker. We had to take C-section classes, because they were certain I’d never be able to deliver naturally, but I’m also allergic to narcotics, so post-operative pain was a big concern.
  3. August 1985 – God be praised and chalk it up to a whole lot of help from relatives, friends, and loving strangers … our bills got paid, Daddy got his degree, Mommy survived, and baby thrived. She went full term, was born without surgery, and was healthier afterward than her previous sibling had been … which just does not happen with Rh disease! Our doctor said, “You can call it a ‘miracle’ if you want to. I sure can’t explain it.”

CELEBRITIES: Never, ever forget that actors get paid to recite words that were written by other people. Some of them are intelligent. Some of them are dumber than a box of rocks.

ICELAND: This lighthouse sits on top of a 120′ tall sea stack 4.5 miles off the coast of the Westman Islands in the Atlantic Ocean. Built in 1939, materials were transported by fishing boats to the base of the stack and then hauled up by hand, often under dangerous conditions with high waves, rain, and wind. Master climbers used drills, hammers, chains, and clamps to secure a path up the rock. Near the top, where the rock face protruded outward, they reportedly formed a human pyramid—one climber kneeling, another standing on his back, and a third climbing atop to reach the cliff’s edge. The crew camped on the rock ledge in tents for extended periods to complete the work. A helipad for helicopter access was added in the 1950s. The facility was converted to solar power in 1993.

MEDIA: On June 18, the Senate Judiciary Committee held a hearing into whether former President Joe Biden was actually in charge, given his clear mental decline. A focal point of the investigation was the concern that the autopen was being used for executive orders and pardons without Biden’s knowledge.

The only reporting of the topic by the lapdog media was a July 13 New York Times story that prompted a 34-second mention by NBC.

SO MUCH WINNING: After the Justice Department sent more than 20 subpoenas to doctors and clinics involved in performing transgender medical procedures on minors, Children’s National Hospital in Washington, D.C., announced that it will no longer provide gender transition-related medical interventions.

THREE IDENTICAL STRANGERS: I knew the story before I watched the video, but it still has me tearing up. [9:40] – In 1980, three 19-year-old boys discovered they were identical triplets. Their separation had been orchestrated as part of a secret psychological study led by Dr. Peter Neubauer to explore the age-old “nature versus nurture” question by placing each boy in a home of different socioeconomic status working-class, middle-class, and upper-middle-class and observing their development. The study also involved at least eight sets of twins. The adoptive families – who were not told that their kids had identical siblings or that they were participating in a study – were monitored through evaluations under the guise of routine adoption follow-ups. The findings of the study were never published, and the original records are sealed until 2065 … by which time everyone involved will be dead.

TRANS: On July 4 in downtown Portland, a hulking, heavyset person in fuchsia hot pants went on a violent rampage, punching and attacking people with a knife and stick. One victim was a minor. The attacker was so violent and out of control that a team of police officers had to use sedation to make the arrest.

The five feet ten inches tall, 260-pound “female” was booked into jail by Portland Police as an unidentified “Jane Doe.” His true identity is Trever Eugene Osterhout (42). The man, who goes “Trish Elizabeth Osterhout” is a transgender Antifa member (“Trantifa”), satanist, and LGBTQ+ activist with a history of domestic violence.

The picture above is one patch in one of the partly category. The centers of each 6.5” block are 16-patch 4” squares made from 1.5” scraps. The not-scrappy part is the white border. I’m having so much fun embellishing each block. My most favorite part about scrappy quilting is that I have no idea how the finished project will look. Designing is the part that really excites me. When I do a project that is completely planned ahead of time, I get bored part way through and can’t finish it.

DAILY PRAYER: Dear Lord, When we are tempted to disappoint You, please remind us that every sacrifice, however how small, is a kick in the butt to the enemy. In Jesus’ Name, we pray. Amen.

DOGE: Federal agencies recently terminated 80 wasteful contracts, saving We the Taxpayers $436 million. That’s almost half a billion dollar$ … in three days. One of the canceled contracts was for “planning an environment workshop and round-table discussion” for the Department of Transportation … for $265,000. THAT’s more than a quarter of a million dollar$.

JOBS: Even better, the numbers in the graph above are from before the Supreme Court’s July 8 decision freeing Trump to execute the layoffs he wants. Remember when Biden’s “good” job numbers were made up of mostly illegals and government workers?

  1. 2016 – 2020 (Trump administration): The federal civilian workforce* averaged 2.18 million.
  2. 2021–2023 (Biden administration): The federal civilian workforce* grew to 3 million, the highest since 1994, when the Democrats had the trifecta (Democrat president, plus Democrat majorities in both House and Senate).

LEFTIE LOONIES: [1:05] – On July 12, 2025, Debbie Wasserman-Schultz toured Alligator Alcatraz, then made an angry speech about the “appalling” conditions. “These detainees are essentially packed into cages, wall-to-wall humans. 32 detainees per cage. That is the only thing inside those cages are their bunk beds and there are three tiny toilets that are toilet units that have a sink attached to it. They get their drinking water and they brush their teeth where they poop in the same unit.”

Oh, cry me a river, Debbie! Most of us brush our teeth where we poop. It’s called a bathroom.

“Packed into cages.” At least these detainees are given a partial wall between the bunk and hygiene areas. Standard federal prison cells (aka, “cages”) are typically 6′ x 8′ or 7′ x 12′ feet. They house two prisoners who have a set of bunk beds and, in the same small space is a one-piece, stainless steel toilet-sink combo with no privacy barrier.

As for 32 people in one big bunk room … Marine Corps boot camp barracks typically house 40 to 80 recruits in a big bunk room with an attached hygiene area where sinks, showers, and toilets also have no privacy barriers.

LIFE: The UK government recently extended two weeks paid bereavement leave to women who lose a child to miscarriage before 24 weeks gestation. The UK government also recently extended the right of women to terminate their own pregnancies at any time up to birth.

I tried to find fun alternatives to Trick or Treating, but they always ended up with treats they couldn’t eat. I felt terrible about just tossing out the treats people gave, so one year, I took them to a local store that had picture books. The clerk was in on the scheme and cheerfully let them “buy” one book each with their candy.

GRAMMY NOTES: We dug a 12′ circle in our yard and filled it with play sand. I’ve raked it when I’ve needed a few minutes of zen time. We’ve built campfires in the middle for s’mores. The kids, and now their kids, have played in it. But it’s the local wildlife that uses it the most. My favorite time was when two mama turkeys brought their combined broods to our yard. While one supervised searching for grubs, worms, and such in the never-sprayed lawn, the other taught the babes, one by one, how to properly clean feathers with sand.
