Senator Rand Paul: White House issues answer after Senator’s 13-hour speech

Mar 7, 2013

Today, following a historic 13-hour filibuster on the Senate floor that ended early this morning, Sen. Rand Paul received correspondence from the White House regarding the legality and constitutionality of the U.S. government using lethal force, including drone strikes, on Americans and in U.S. territory. Sen. Paul’s repeated correspondence to President Obama’s nominee to be CIA director, John Brennan, was finally answered today, in part, with the following response from Attorney General Eric Holder: “‘Does the President have the authority to use a weaponized drone to kill an American not engaged in combat on American soil?’ The answer to that question is no.”

“This is a major victory for American civil liberties and ensures the protection of our basic Constitutional rights. We have Separation of Powers to protect our rights. That’s what government was organized to do and that’s what the Constitution was put in place to do,” Sen. Paul said. “I would like to congratulate my fellow colleagues in both the House and Senate and thank them for joining me in protecting the rights of due process.”

Sadly, the die-hards on the Left don’t agree. Or, at least, as long as their messiah is in charge, they don’t agree. If a Republican were in the White House, their hair would be on fire over the idea of a drone targeting an American citizen on American soil.

“Real journalist” Juan Williams has been caught plagiarizing entire paragraphs of his column for The Hill from a Leftie think tank. HuffoPo et al reported on it, calling the Black, Leftist, Slobbering-Obama-Fan as a “Fox News pundit.”

Leftist lapped it up unexamined. @ElayneBoosler – “Fox News Pundit Caught In Big Scandal.” It was discovered that for 5 minutes last week, he was reporting actual news. @ElayneBoosler the pundit got in more trouble with his superiors when he let a Democrat get a word in edgewise.

Rightie wag Lord Foggybottom said, “I’m waiting for the headline: MSNBC Pundit Caught Telling the Truth.” To which he was cautioned, “Don’t hold your breath.”

Clearly, Elayne Boosler has NEVER watched Fox News, because the Church of the Left put it on the Banned List. She projects what her fave stations do routinely (not report actual news, never let a Republican get a word in edgewise), ASSuming this is what Fox does too. Except Fox doesn’t.

I just cannot imagine why any American could not support Ron Paul’s questions. It seems so basic. I guess I just don’t get the “nuance” that the left is so fond of these days.

“these days” being “while Obama is in office” … they didn’t give a toot about those nuances the rest of us called FACTS when Bush was in office
