Yikes, that Waxman guy’s nose! I know he can’t help it, but my goodness, I’ve never seen nostrils that face forward like that, and it was startling!

That’s true! Most often, Waxman is compared to a rat, but I think any comparison to a furry, cute critter is just wrong.

Yes. Rats make good pets … or so I’ve heard from those who are devoted to theirs. I’m allergic to all rodents and way too snake-phobic to keep an animal with a long bald tail. Brrr.

One of my girls had a pet rat, and he was just as cute and cuddly and friendly as any critter we’ve ever had in this house (and we’ve had a lot). It’s too bad the word “rat” has such negative connotations — if they were called something else, fewer people would hate them. A gerbil is also a type of rat, but most people don’t get creeped out by them. Whenever I mentioned my daughter’s pet rat to people, they would shudder and ask how I could stand having such a repulsive animal in my house. No one ever reacted that way when I talked about our pet gerbils. A rose by any other name…
So yes, I would be offended by anyone comparing Henry Waxman to a rat. And that Nancy Pelosi/tarsier comparison is also unfair to the tarsier. Tarsiers are really cute. My eldest daughter did an art project involving tarsiers once — I’ll try to find it to show you…

Apparently so, even though it passed my husband and me by. My husband is an architect, so he can draw, but it’s all technical/functional drawing, not the kind of stuff our kids do. The best we can figure is that the girls inherited their father’s good eye, visual imagination, and technical abilities, coupled with my wild imagination.

When I saw it, I told her it would be a great textile design, or wallpaper (real wallpaper, not the computer kind). She had been in fashion design before she dropped out of college (long story), but I could definitely see her doing textile design.
BTW, the title of this piece is “The Revolution Never Sleeps.” 🙂

Pete, very timely and funny post. You are the master of the Dimbulb Democrat horror show, but how come you don’t have Debbie Wassername Schultz? She’s been in the news lately, and she’s just about as scary as anybody.
