I talked to my liason from the hospital yesterday and she explained to me that as of Jan. I,medicaid would only be available to those whose income is 113% of the poverty level which is $16k.Sadly,DW and I,since we worked hard for many years,make more than that in our social Security payments.

I have no idea how things are going to turn out today in VA, but I did the best I could do. Took some people to the polls who swore they were voting for Cuccinelli. One was my daughter who has a stress fracture in her hip, and has to be on crutches for 5 weeks minimum. That was kind of fun because I pulled right up in front of the door with my car and sort of bossed my way to the front of the line. I’ve never done anything like that before. I am one who usually patiently waits their turn, but don’t get in the way of a mother with an injured child! You would think that people would have seen her struggling and made way and offered to let her go ahead, but NO! Things sure have changed in VA – Even 10 years ago our good manners would have been on display, but no more.
My husband fell off the roof on Saturday and can barely move, but nothing is broken, thank you God. He still managed to drag himself to the polls. It was no great love for Cuccinelli that motivated us, but an abject horror of McCauliffe and puppet masters.
I’ll be scarce for a while, my patients are taking a lot of time, though they are trying their best to do everything on their own. Ya’ll hold down the fort!
