Yesterday was a better day. After several afternoon calls to the cable company my new TV is finally functional. It is a little creepy that somebody somewhere can push a button and control your service. Comcast giveth and Comcast taketh away. DW only snapped at me once and glared a couple times. I’m making progress.

It’s interesting that the opinions about the success of the first Iraq occupation have continued to drop. I wonder if that’s really a fair assessment. Maybe it’s being influenced by the increasingly hopeless current situation? Perhaps the tangible success has just been squandered?

CBS Hillary Clinton Show Loses 1/3 Younger Viewers by 2nd Episode
The current ratings show that Madam Secretary lost 4 million 60 Minutes viewers and lost half of its younger 18-49 viewers. That’s the demo prized by advertisers and Madam Secretary is going to have trouble staying on the air if it can’t get them to tune in.
The question is how much money is CBS willing to lose to promote Hillary Clinton?

The Democrats funding advantage has kept them competitive in the critical battleground states. According to a recent media analysis, the number of pro-Democrat Senate ads is up 91% over 2010. Over 70% of the pro-Democrat ads have been negative attacks against Republicans. Comparable numbers for Republicans, or even Democrats in the House, aren’t even in the same constellation as these. It goes a long way to explain why Republicans and Democrats are locked in near stalemates in almost all of the battleground states.
A fundraising edge lets a campaign buy time earlier in the race, but it doesn’t necessarily allow the campaign to by a significant amount more time in the final weeks of the campaign.
I get the sense that the republicans would wade through snake-infested swamps to vote in 5 weeks.Democrats?Not so much.Not without the clown Prince running.
