A MOTHER’S DAY SMILE

May all the mothers here have a blessed day. Rather than come up with something schmaltzy, I thought I’d post some cartoons from everybody’s favorite deranged aunty, who reminds me a lot of my late granny, with her sense of humor and her in-your-face attitude.

      We had gourmet take-out, two episodes of our favorite show, and an entire fruit torte. The last is such an expensive treat, we usually cut it up into slivers and make it last, but we decided to just really SPLASH OUT last night, cut it into quarters and had two servings each! We’re getting so wild and crazy in our old age. Who knows what will be next?!

    My middle daughter is 8 months pregnant. While her toddler was playing in the creek with his daddy, she and I bonded by phone over “Cranky Pregnant Lady” stories. 🙂

      My daughter had such an easy pregnancy it was almost criminal. I couldn’t believe the way she breezed through it, unplanned and inconvenient as it was. As it got close to her due date, she actually said was going to miss being pregnant. It’s a good thing I don’t have a weak heart, because that statement could have sent me into cardiac arrest.
