On MSNBC’s Morning Joe, Mika Brzezinski said something very revealing:
“[Trump] could have undermined the messaging so much that he can actually control exactly what people think. And that is–that is our job.”
“That” … meaning controlling what people think … “is [the media’s] job.”
I don’t think so.

I’m not shocked by what Mika said. I may have written this before on this blog… Several years ago a publisher whom I worked for told the reporters that it was their job to “interpret” the news. I was a little shocked because he’d always been a champion for honest, no bu11$h#t reporting. Months after telling his reporters what their journalistic duties were, I overheard a reporter chastising someone over the phone. “Do you not know who I am? I’m a reporter and it’s my job to make complicated stories easier for the public to understand. I’ll tell them what to think.”

Uhhhhhhhhhhhh … I work at making complicated stories easier to understand, but I always thought it was so people could decide for themselves what to think about them. :0/

Today’s verse is apropos: Proverbs 14:22
“Do not those who plot evil go astray? But those who plan what is good find love and faithfulness.”
