Rep. Maxine Waters (D., Calif.) is slated to pay her daughter another $108,000 for running a lucrative campaign operation that pulls in hundreds of thousands of dollars each election cycle, FEC filings show.
Karen Waters, the daughter of Rep. Waters, collected nearly $650,000 to date for running the operation for her mother’s campaign.
Karen is in charge of a “slate mailer” operation for Citizens for Waters, Rep. Waters’ federal campaign committee. Slate mailers, or endorsement mailers, involve a candidate or political group paying for the endorsement of another politician.

Recently, at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, an assistant professor from the University of Pittsburgh had a political message to deliver to the students. Dr. Shanara Reid-Brinkley’s presentation was called this long-worded title: “Anti-Blackness and the Political: Millennials, Black Intellectuals, and the Re-shaping of American Politics.”
In her talks, she suggested that blacks had less liberty in America now that President Donald Trump had replaced Barack Obama in the Oval Office.

Five Killed, 26 Wounded In Chicago Shootings Over The Weekend

The latest shooting victims added to Chicago’s statistics include a 21-year-old male who was shot in the head in the Roseland neighborhood on the far South Side of Chicago. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Obama’s Triumphant Return . . . to Community Organizing in Chicago
The event, open to the public but with limited tickets, will bring together younger leaders and students “for a conversation on community organizing and civic engagement.”
. . . . “This event is part of President Obama’s post-presidency goal to encourage and support the next generation of leaders driven by strengthening communities around the country and the world,” the event program states.
I was never convinced that Obama really wanted to be president, so this return to community organizing is not particularly surprising. This event is right up his alley in that he’ll be waffling on about himself.

Is This The Most Racist High School Assignment
A taxpayer-funded high school in North Carolina has come under criticism from local parents because a history teacher gave students a blatantly racist assignment involving a bomb shelter and an impending nuclear war.
The assignment — called “Bomb Shelter Activity” — forces students to use skin color and ethnic background to choose four strangers who will be allowed enter a bomb shelter prior to a nuclear attack.
There’s a “40-year-old Black female doctor who is a lesbian,” for example. There’s a “25-year-old Hispanic male who is a lawyer and is wheelchair bound.”
There’s a “35-year-old white male construction worker who is a racist,” too, notes Greenville NBC affiliate WYFF.
There’s also a “50-year-old White male who is a Catholic Priest” and a “30-year-old Korean-American female who is a former college athlete.”
And, of course, there is a “20-year-old White female who is pregnant, has a two-year-old son and is on welfare.”

Great training for life. Those kids are very likely to be put into the situation someday of having to decide who gets to go into the bomb shelter and who must be left outside, so they’d better start preparing for it now. Glad to see schools are teaching students practical life skills, instead of wasting time on worthless subjects like reading and writing and spelling and math and history, the way they did when I was a little tyke.
