Brooklyn Assemblywoman Pamela Harris stole tens of thousands in Hurricane Sandy money for vacations, lingerie
As Coney Island neighbors and the rest of the city struggled with the massive 2012 devastation, Harris lined her pockets with cash meant to aid the hurricane’s newly homeless, a federal indictment charges.
Harris spent $10,000 on vacations, including a cruise ship getaway, and shopped at Victoria’s Secret with her dirty money, authorities charged Tuesday.
And she allegedly urged witnesses to lie to the FBI in a failed cover-up of her crimes.
Harris looted some $60,000 in state and federal funds in several scams, including Federal Emergency Management Agency money for “temporary housing assistance” after the hurricane, officials charged.
Harris, 57, is a former correction officer and previously served as head of a Coney Island non-profit. She was accused of stealing $34,000 in cash provided by the City Council to pay rent for her group.

And now he’s cracked the case, determining that the lethal storm which wrecked large parts of the northeast was caused by a coalition of five energy companies. And by God, he’s suing them over it.

Report: Frustrated Trump asks senators, why are we letting people in from “sh*thole countries”?
“Why are we having all these people from shithole countries come here?” Trump said, according to these people, referring to African countries and Haiti. He then suggested that the United States should instead bring more people from countries like Norway, whose prime minister he met yesterday.
And just an fyi, notice the source: a Democratic aide who wasn’t even in the meeting.
Three guesses that this gets pulled back or the real story comes out later. But in the meantime, they’ll spread the ‘source’ said story.

The Detroit Free Press obtained documents from the Department of Labor that in the past two years, over 300 labor union chapters have detected fraud. Two cases with the United Auto Workers Union in Michigan and New Jersey had embezzling episodes that soared over $1 million. The Free Press added that at times, some people who have been tasked with looking after the books were simply not qualified for the job, some cases they were headed up by people who couldn’t balance their own checkbook.

About the s*ithole comment, at work I am surrounded by lefties who hate Trump so much. They can’t even talk about him much less report about him without their hatred showing through. One of the loudest liberals in my department was talking about Trump’s comment this morning. She actually said that if there’s no proof that he said it and that it’s someone who claims that he said it then he probably didn’t say it. I almost fell out of my seat when she said that. She also said that there’s so much fake news out there that she doesn’t know what to believe anymore. Wow.

That is the best thing I have read in all of 2018 so far! It gives me hope.
I don’t care if he did say it. I think it is the most important policy question that has been articulated in decades. I don’t think it was racist, but the people who thought so just might be racist themselves. I think the case could be made that Sweden is turning into a shit hole pretty darn fast, so it just shows you what the offended have foremost in their minds.

Sh*thole can be used to describe a trailer park I pass by on my way to work. All I see are white people living there so for people think sh*thole is a racist word only applied to countries where the majority of citizens are dark-skinned they are out of their minds.
I guarantee that the people who are offended have never stepped foot in a “sh*thole” country. My sister went on a mission trip to Kenya and visited a slum there. She said that people would either deficate in the street or throw bags of poo into the streets since they had no toilets and no septic system of any sort. So you could say that that part of Kenya is a sh*thole and not be raaaasict.

My brother visited Calcutta in the 60s and said the same thing about people pooping in the streets.
I read a black veteran say that, after being deployed to one of the “sh*thole” countries in Africa (his word, not mine), he thanked God for the slavers who had kidnapped his ancestors.

Walmart, the nation’s largest private employer, is raising its minimum wage to $11 an hour. And they announced that they are offering bonuses to many long-term employees. Yahoo Finance now has a running list of over 80 major corporations who have handed out bonuses to over 2 million Americans.

I’m down here in The City visiting Mom this weekend, and as always got to thumb through the few sheets that are all that’s left of the city’s newspaper. As always, the editorial cartoon was stupid and irritating. (You can see it here — I won’t dignify it by re-printing it.
Panel 1, a smiling Wal-Mart employee exhults over his bonus check.
Panel 2, a pac-man thingy labeled “thousands of layoffs” is gulping.
Um… whuuut? I think the days of mass layoffs due to the Obamaconomy are behind us.
After seeing that, I did manage to avoid reading the editorials or letters to the editor, which tend to be of similar caliber.
