Remember when Obama told us we should be more like the other nations of the world? I think that, when it comes to pain-capable and even viable unborn human beings, he meant other nations should be more like us … and kill as many as possible.

At twenty weeks, the developing baby is about 6 inches long (13.2 cm) and may weigh about 10 ounces. The baby may begin to make movements that the mother can feel at about 19 to 21 weeks; this baby movement is termed “quickening”. The baby at this stage of development can move its facial muscles, yawn, and suck its thumb. The expanding uterus at 20 weeks is felt at the level of the belly button.

The House passed, then the Senate voted down a bill that would have banned abortions on pain-capable fetuses.
There was an exception for those little people who were conceived in rape or incest. Apparently, the sins of the fathers are supposed to be visited upon the children. Or something.
Eighteen states have passed similar legislation. Idaho and Arizona have, too, but are unable to enforce them “thanks” to ongoing court cases.
The votes broke down almost entirely on party lines with these exceptions:
Pro-Abortion Republicans = 4 NAYS
- House: Dent, Frelinghuysen
- Senate: Collins, Murkowski
Pro-Life Democrats = 6 AYES
- House: Cuellar, Lipinski, Peterson
- Senate: Casey, Donnelly, Manchin
