The point Father makes about not buying into the abuse of political correctness reminds me of an article I read once about how to deal with bullies.
The only responses I knew at the time were to take it or become like them. (My family was full of bullies and I was their favorite victim.) So I paid attention to the article.
The advice was basically what the priest said. Don’t buy into the bullying at all. Deflect it. I remember one example from the article. Bully: “You’re ____.” Deflect: “Is that a spot on your tie?”
