Bits & Bytes

CHINA: Military analysts believe that the ChiComs have been secretly developing Trojan Horse-style missile launchers that fit into standard shipping containers that can be transported just about anywhere.

JUDGE JEANINE: Jeanine Pirro takes no prisoners in a blistering opening monologue. [7:43]

JUSSIE SMOLLETT: [4:06] – Candace Owens goes off on what a Big Fat Liar he is.

MIRACULOUS: The driver of the squished car not only survived, but only had minor injuries!

PANIC: [11:63] – Politico reports that a Democratic strategist who advises major donors says it’s “too late. We’re f***ed. … Less than a year ahead of midterm elections, in which even Democrats widely expect they will lose the House and, possibly, the Senate, the party is confronting an identity crisis. It isn’t just Biden’s cratering public approval ratings, inflation, or the precedent that the party in power typically loses seats in a president’s first midterm.

Just one year after Democrats kicked Donald Trump from the White House, it’s not obvious to many voters what Democrats are doing now that they’re in charge. … The ominous development for Democrats is that the infrastructure and social spending policies they’re preparing to run on, despite generally polling favorably, show few signs of helping them at the ballot box.”

SMASH ‘N GRAB: [4:16] – Dan Bongino tears into AOC’s absurd claim that there’s no crime wave. Maybe the reason she is saying this is that all the videos seem to feature perps of color.

ST. NICHOLAS: Bishop Nicholas attended the First Ecumenical Council in Nicaea, where it was determined that Jesus was coeternal with God the Creator. In philosophical terms, Father and Son are “homoousios” – i.e., they share the same substance. Thus, the council rejected Arius’ idea that the Father and Son were not equal. Again, in philosophical terms, Father and Son are merely “homoiousios” – i.e., of a similar substance.

The difference in pronunciation is subtle: homoh-oo-see-ose vs. homoy-oo-see-ose. (The see is pronounced more like a soft zee than a hard ess.)

TALIBAN: After just four months of being in charge, the Taliban has managed to screw up Afghanistan so badly that its chronic malnutrition problem has turned into a mass starvation problem. Aid groups say a million children may die of it this winter.

TAXES: New IRS data shows that former President Donald Trump’s 2017 tax cut law benefited working- and middle-class Americans more than the rich.

TRANS: [3:37] – Another ho-um male athlete has suddenly swept his events and broken records by competing against women. What a jerk.

UNVAXXXED: The unvaxxxed must stay outdoors with the rest of the dirty farm animals.

Funny thing tho’ … another totally vaxxxed cruise ship has reported passengers testing positive. None had symptoms, so had no idea they were spreading the virus. It seems pretty obvious to me that the vaxxxed pose more of a risk to unvaxxxed than we do to them.

VIRGINIA: A panel of judges overseeing the recount in a contested Virginia delegate race ruled Republican Karen Greenhalgh the winner. The GOP has gained control of the chamber! May it be the first of many.

GRAMMY NOTES: Sooo … I’ve been racing through my blogging and other chores so I can take SkillShare art classes every day and I am having SO much fun! Also, learning a ton! I’m excited to share the drawing I just did in which I pulled together stuff I’d learned in classes about drawing in general, using watercolor pencils in particular, and making eyes look real. I could not have done this a week ago!
