1A: On January 20, a dozen Catholic high school students and their chaperones were kicked out of the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum for refusing to take off and hide their pro-life hats. They say the museum staff mocked and cursed at them and claimed the museum to be a “neutral zone” where political or religious messages are not allowed.
The American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) is representing some of the parents who have chosen to sue. ACLJ Executive Director Jordan Sekulow says the staff’s behavior was an example of “outrageous” and “abhorrent” discrimination, particularly given that the Smithsonian Institution is a federal entity that receives upwards of $1 billion from the government each fiscal year.
