EDUCATION: On June 29, SCOTUS ruled that race-conscious college admissions (aka, affirmative action) are unconstitutional. An expert told Epoch Times that some college are continuing to favor less qualified Black students by eliminating ACT and SAT scores in their admission decisions.

HEART HEALTH: A study entitled “Assessment of Myocardial 18F-FDG Uptake at PET/CT in Asymptomatic SARS-CoV-2-vaccinated and Nonvaccinated Patients” was published in Radiology on September 19, 2023. In it, researchers report finding higher levels of heart inflammation in 700 ‘rona jabbed patients as compared to a similar group of 303 non-jabbed patients. The individuals had all undergone PET/CT scans for issues unrelated to their hearts.

SCREEN TIME: A study entitled “Screen Time at Age 1 Year and Communication and Problem-Solving Developmental Delay at 2 and 4 Years” showed that screen time at age 1 is associated with developmental delays in communication and problem-solving at ages 2 and 4.

SEXISM in SPORTS: Excuse me while I take a quick break to vent … but I am just so sick of female athletes being forced to perform in skimpy outfits while the guys can wear stuff that completely covers their privates.

TRANS: On Thursday, the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld recently passed laws in Kentucky and Tennessee protecting children from so-called “gender-affirming care.” In the majority opinion, Chief Judge Jeffrey Sutton observed that, because gender dysphoria is “a relatively new diagnosis with ever-shifting approaches to care over the last decade or two,” it is “difficult for anyone to be sure about predicting the long-term consequences of abandoning age limits of any sort for these treatments.
