BIRTHRIGHT CITIZENSHIP: Donald Trump said he wants to issue an executive order ending birthright citizenship in the US. Only 30 other of the world’s 195 nations currently grant citizenship automatically to anyone born on their soil. The reason for this was rooted in our founding as a nation of immigrants. IMO, it long ago ceased to be to our nation’s benefit and Trump is right to end it and may the legislature encode the change into federal law.
