AMERICAN HISTORY: On April 15, 1865, President Lincoln died less than 12 hours after being shot by John Wilkes Booth. He was the first US president to be assassinated, just as the Civil War was drawing to a close.
BORDER: During an immigration inspection, Border Patrol agents stopped a Chevrolet Malibu and uncovered four passengers in the country illegally, including a juvenile locked in the trunk of the vehicle, unable to exit without assistance. Agents also discovered the driver armed with a loaded, ready-to-fire firearm.
All subjects were transported to the Ajo Border Patrol Station for further processing. The driver was presented for prosecution on charges of transporting aliens unlawfully present in the United States. The adult passengers will be held as material witnesses and subsequently processed for removal proceedings. The juvenile was placed directly into removal proceedings.
