Bits & Bytes

AMERICAN HISTORY: On October 6, 1927, “The Jazz Singer,” directed by Alan Crosland and starring Al Jolson and May McAvoy, was released as the first film with a synchronized (if partial) soundtrack. It marked the end of the silent film era.

ARIANISM: In the fourth century, Arius of Alexandria preached that God the Father is the only un-begotten God, that He created Jesus, then adopted Him as His son. According to Arius, Jesus is to be worshiped only because of His preeminence as the first creation. This was declared heresy by the Council of Nicaea in 325AD. This part of the Nicene Creed was written to respond to this heresy: “I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father.”

CATHOLIC: Ephesians 2 – “8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

DIGGER: [6:57] – The Body Language Guy, who is a huge Tom Cruise fan, thinks this is the worst movie he’s ever made. N.b., his review is free of spoiler alerts.

DOUBLE STANDARDS: You know the saying … if they didn’t have double standards, they would have no standards at all.

EDUCATION: CLICK https://www.facebook.com/reel/3567618263412302 [:51] to hear a stunning example of how useless college has become.

FLY DUBAI: Investigators say the hijacker’s plan was to approach Ben Gurion Airport as if for a normal landing, and then, at the last moment when interception would no longer be possible, to crash the plane into the terminal and cause mass casualties.

LIFE: CLICK https://www.facebook.com/reel/1417298216426705 [1:12] to hear a young woman who has almost certainly had an abortion and is deeply conflicted about it. Pray for her and all the others like her.

MAHA: CLICK https://www.youtube.com/shorts/yRFLIk17IXU [1:42] to hear some of the amazing benefits of indigestible fiber. Raw potato is supposed to be a rich source of indigestible fiber (aka, resistant starch), but who wants to eat raw potato? The other day, I experimented with adding some to a tossed salad. I cut it up small and found it added a nice crunch that was not at all noticeable to my palate or my husband’s as raw potato.

NAZIS: I have often wondered why the National Socialist German Workers’ Party (NAZIs) got to be classified as “far right” when it is clearly aligned with all the other variations on centralized control over everything and everybody. I mean … they had “socialist” right in the name.

The article linked below explains that the “artificial shift of Fascism and National Socialism to the right side of the political spectrum” was the result of “Marxist-Leninist propaganda” in “the first half of the 20th century.”

“The primary battle was fought during WWII, where the Soviets had the upper hand over Italian Fascists and Nazi Germany. As the victor in the bloody war, they rewrote and propagandized their version of history, cementing non-Marxian flavors of socialism on the right wing of the political spectrum.”

SPIRITUAL WARFARE: CLICK https://www.youtube.com/shorts/5v8aEnMNQmE [1:44] to hear the two brilliant analogies God gave a minister to answer two common objections to the Christian message.

TOLERANCE: Nine whole minutes between these two posts. ::smh::

VOTER FRAUD: CLICK https://x.com/AndrewKolvet/status/2105325320387625196 [3:12] to hear AG AG Todd Blanche announce how that thing that never happens has happened again … and again … and again.

GRAMMY NOTES: I was awake with a spinal for one of my procedures. My experienced surgeon was working with an intern. When I heard him say, “No, not like that.” I rather forcefully asked them to please get it right!
