ARGENTINA: A currency swap is an agreement between two countries to exchange currencies for a specified period, allowing them to stabilize their currencies and manage foreign exchange risks. Recently, the U.S. signed a $20 billion currency swap with Argentina to help prop up the Argentine peso amid its economic challenges. EVERYDAY HEROES: “My dad Jacob was only 17 when I was born—and living with Down syndrome didn’t stop him from raising me on his own. People said he couldn’t do it. Some even thought I’d be taken away. But dad never gave up. He learned how to change diapers, make bottles, and calm me when I cried. My grandparents helped at first, but it was my dad who stayed up through the nights, reading stories and singing off-key lullabies. He worked part-time at a grocery store, saving every dollar for my school supplies and birthday cakes. We didn’t have much, but I never felt like I lacked anything. When I graduated, he was right there in the front row, clapping the loudest. Looking at him that day, I realized how much he had done for me—and how grateful I am that he never stopped trying.”

GO, BABY, GO: [4:49] – There are no powered wheelchair options for small children. This man fills the gap. I was thinking, “This is so cool,” until he got to how they modify them to also promote the individual kid’s rehabilitation goals. Now I need a tissue.

LAWFARE: President Donald Trump has pardoned Michelino Sunseri, calling his case a “prime example of excessive prosecution” and an example of regulatory overreach that burdens everyday Americans. Michelino Sunseri was convicted in 2024 of having briefly used an old trail that had technically been closed in the 1980s. However, the only indication that the trail was closed were two small forty-year-old signs. Morever, the trail had long been used by hikers and runners without the park service caring.

Sunseri was charged under 36 CFR § 2.1(b), a rule barring walking in nondesignated parts of protected areas, punishable by a fine and up to six months in jail. Prosecutors offered Sunseri a plea deal requiring him to pay a $5,000 fine and accept a five-year ban from Grand Teton National Park. Sunseri said no, because he is a local member of the community who regularly runs in the park.

He offered instead to perform community service and assist in closing or rehabilitating the trail. The National Park Service withdrew support for the prosecution, but federal attorneys pressed ahead with what Cato legal fellow Mike Fox called a case of “vindictive prosecution.”

Sunseri and his lawyers expressed gratitude for the president’s pardon, but noted “it never should’ve gotten this far.” Indeed.

NUMISMATICS: The U.S. Mint began producing pennies between 1792 and 1793. Due to inflation, it now costs more to make a penny than a penny is worth, so on Wednesday, U.S. Treasurer Brandon Beach hit a button to strike the final penny saying, “God bless America, and we’re going to save the taxpayers $56 million.” Officials said the final few pennies will be auctioned off to collectors.

PLAYING THE AIR: [4:22] – The Mascots are studying unusual musical instruments this month and I am absolutely captivated by this one. It looks like the soloist is just pretending to play an instrument. But she isn’t. Her instrument is called a theremin. It is an electronic musical instrument named after its inventor, Leon Theremin, who patented the device in 1928.

The two metal antennas you can see in the video each function as one half of a capacitor, with the thereminist’s hands functioning as the other half. One antenna controls frequency, while the other controls volume.

PRAYER for OUR NATION: Holy Spirit, Breathe life into our nation once more. Sweep from city to city, breaking spiritual apathy and stirring hearts to repentance. Let Your glory fill our land. In Jesus’ Name, we pray. Amen.

SECRET SANTA: [5:27] – One commenter posted, “These are how I start my day now.” Indeed. The person behind these gifts blesses so many more than the families in the videos.

TRANS: According to multiple large-scale surveys, non-binary and transgender identification among teens and college students peaked in 2023 and has fallen by half ever since.

DAILY PRAYER: Dear Lord, Prepare us now for when You return. In Jesus’ Name, we pray. Amen.

BBC: Last week, The Telegraph reported that the BBC’s premiere investigative program, the longest-running in the world, deceptively edited Trump’s speech on January 6, 2021, to make it seem like he called for violence at the Capitol.

CLICK https://x.com/realvictorad/status/1987647336508481779 [:21] to hear the BBC version and the original

Both the BBC Director General Tim Davie & News CEO Deborah Turness have been forced to resign. Trump’s lawyers have also sent a letter to the BBC, demanding the network retract “false, defamatory, disparaging, and inflammatory statements” made about Trump that were “fabricated and aired by the BBC”

“Failure to comply will leave President Trump with no choice but to pursue any and all legal rights and remedies available to recover damages for the overwhelming financial and reputational harm that the BBC has caused him to suffer, with all rights and remedies being expressly reserved by President Trump.”

CATHOLIC: Please pray a Hail Mary for an increase in vocations to the priesthood.

CORNELL: Cornell University has agreed to pay the federal government a $30 million fine over three years and the DOJ has agreed to stop investigating all the ways the university has violated federal civil rights laws. Federal grants (about $250 million) to the institution will thus be unfrozen.

N.b., I chose the graphic above because it shows the building where Dearest and I first met in January 1979 and where we were joined in holy matrimony on October 13 of that same year.

EVERYDAY HEROES: “Mister, I miss my sisters,” my youngest said that first night. My name’s Marcus, and I grew up in foster care. I still remember the night they split me from my little brother, Aaron. That sound of him crying through the wall never left me. I promised myself that if I ever got the chance, no kid would go through that again. Years later, I became a foster parent. The first children who came were three brothers—Jayden, Malik, and Noah. They were polite, quiet, and scared to unpack. Then I found out they had two sisters, Ava and Chloe, living in different homes across town. That same night, Jayden looked up and said those words: “Mister, I miss my sisters.” I started calling everyone I could—social workers, agencies, judges. I begged until all five kids could live under one roof. The day they walked through my door together, the house finally sounded like home. When the adoption became official, all five stood beside me in court. I looked at them, and I told them, “You’ll never be apart again.”

FIFTY-YEAR MORTGAGES: “This just means your house will be owned by the bank until you die, and after. We don’t need 50 year mortgages. Get the illegal immigrants out of our country. Give America back to Americans.” ~ Matt Walsh

NYC: “Mamdani is going to run out of other people’s money much faster than other communists … because people in NYC are allowed to flee.” ~Nick Freitas

OBAMACARE: [5:17] – Democrats are blaming the sudden and very steep rise in Obamacare premiums on Republicans. But Republicans opposed Obamacare from the start. The shutdown during Trump’s first term was their attempt to scuttle it before it did irreparable damage to our health care system. The Obamacare premium subsidies, which are expiring, were also voted in by Democrats with the expiration date they’re now blaming on Republicans.

PRAYER for OUR NATION: Lord Almighty, we place our nation under Your mighty protection. Defend our borders, our cities, and our people from every form of danger—whether seen or unseen. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

PROGRESSIVES: These are the people who keep saying MAGA is a cult.

S&G: One of the largest branches of the German Protestant church has defended a pastor after she blessed a relationship between four men and declared the “polycule” was married “in the eyes of God.”

The event occurred at a “pop-up wedding festival” at the St Paul the Apostle church in Berlin which was offering free blessings for those who wished to avoid “lengthy formalities.”

The pastor said, “You could see right away that there was so much love between them. Why should God have anything against there being four of them rather than two?”

Maybe for the same reason He should have everything against treating marriage like it’s a sideshow carnival attraction.

SECRET SANTA: “Healing is not linear.” [6:10] – May God bless this amazing woman. I need a tissue.

SHUTDOWN: Too bad it took him 42 days too long to remember to stand up for the people who pay his wages.

TENNESSEE: [:35] – In addition to locating and safely returning 101 missing children as of Sunday, Nov. 9, the U.S. Marshals Task Force has arrested 2,342 individuals on various charges, clearing more than 1,000 warrants in 41 days.

BOOTYJUDGE: Yesterday morning during a live CNN interview with Senator John Kennedy (R-LA), Jake Tapper said that Pete Buttigieg had accused Kennedy of being “out of touch, behind the times” and that Kennedy “should do [his] homework.”

Kennedy pulled a sheet of paper out of his jacket pocket and read, “Peter Paul Montgomery Buttigieg. Mayor of South Bend, population 103,000 — smaller than Baton Rouge’s airport. Oversaw 1,000 potholes fixed… in eight years. Left office with a 38% approval rating. Harvard, Oxford, McKinsey — fancy words for ‘I’ve never met a payroll I couldn’t consultant away.’ High-speed rail plan: $2.1 billion for 12 miles of track that still ain’t laid. Current job: shows up to disasters after the cameras leave.”

The senator then folded the paper and said, “Jake, tell Pete I did my homework. Tell him when he can run a city bigger than a Cracker Barrel parking lot, maybe then he can tell Louisiana how to spend our money. Till then, bless his heart.”

Buttigieg’s communications team later called Kennedy’s remarks “childish.” Kennedy responded, “Son, childish is promising trains that never leave the station.”

FAKE NEWS: CLICK https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=3954549228138991 [1:11] to hear the true story behind the latest anti-ICE Democrat media lie.

On November 5 in Chicago, agents attempted to make a “targeted traffic stop” on a vehicle registered to Diana Patricia Santillana Galeano, an illegal alien from Colombia. Rather than comply, Santillana Galeano and the man who was driving the vehicle sped away. Pulling into a shopping plaza, the two fled the vehicle and ran into the Rayito de Sol Spanish Immersion Early Learning Center where they attempted to barricade themselves.

Fortunately, they were blocked from endangering the children by a set of locked inner doors and agents were able to apprehend the woman inside the vestibule. Video of them wrestling her, screaming and struggling, out the front doors went viral, with flaming headlines about a “day care teacher” having been “violently” arrested in front of her young students.

FACT ONE: The woman, who was not a teacher or an employee at the day care center, fled from a lawful traffic stop, then attempted to endanger children to evade arrest.

FACT TWO: ICE agents never entered the classrooms to arrest her.

ITHACA, NY: My home town.

PRAYER for OUR NATION: Dear Lord, We pray in a special way today for all of our veterans, particularly those who are still suffering ill effects related to their time in service. Help them. Heal them. And grant them all eternal life. In Jesus’ Name, we pray. Amen.

SECRET SANTA: [5:00] – Another good one.

TARIFFS: On Sunday, Trump announced his plan to spread the t ariff wealth around in the form of dividend checks to all but high-income Americans.

BANKING SCANDAL: [3:45] – If Trump hadn’t won, this would have gotten worse.

BORDER: U.S. Customs and Border Protection says they had the lowest number of border encounters in any October ever. They also say that, for the past six months, there have been zero releases into the U.S. to await hearings.

Our mission is simple: secure the border and safeguard this nation. And that’s exactly what we are doing. No excuses. No politics. Just results delivered by the most dedicated law-enforcement professionals in the country. We’re not easing up — we’re pushing even harder.” ~ CBP Commissioner Rodney Scott

DOGE: This past week, agencies ended another $648 million in wasteful spending. Canceled contracts included $456,000 to provide “24/7 FM broadcast service in hosting, operations, technical, and maintenance support in Juba, South Sudan.” The previous week, agencies ended wasteful contracts worth $160 million. These included $8.7 million for “FM and television broadcast operations in Iraq, Libya, and Chad.” The week before that, agencies terminated 150 wasteful contracts, saving We the Taxpayers $240 million. These included $276,000 for the “Armenian radio program.”

I asked Grok why we’re spending millions on radio programming in third world countries. The response was, “These efforts, which date back to the 1980s, aim to promote democracy, governance, and human rights by supporting independent media in fragile or authoritarian-leaning environments.” Like so much the federal government does to throw out money around without much accountability, it sounds good in the mission statement. BUT, and it’s a big one … the money has been managed by USAID which has been issuing it to NGOs.

NO ONE LIKE TRUMP: [9:08] – He’s forcing Democrats to defend Big Insurance.

PRAYER for OUR NATION: Heavenly Father, Raise up the youth of our great nation and fill their hearts with love for truth and justice. Amen.

BABY ORCA: Whale watchers in Norway were observing a group of orcas when the water around the animals suddenly turned crimson with blood. They assumed they were watching a feeding frenzy … until a little head popped up. They watched in awe as the new mama and her midwives carried the newborn calf on their backs, holding it above water for air, until it was ready to breathe and swim on its own. These are the first known photos of an orca birth in the wild.

FLORIDA: A new state law goes into effect allows a jury to recommend the death sentence for sexual battery on a child under the age of 12. It passed out of the Legislature with support from both parties in both chambers, was signed by Gov. DeSantis in May, and went into effect last month.

ILLINOIS: The state is one signature away from making euthanasia legal. Peter Heck writes, “On paper, of course, the bill includes guardrails: witness requirements, assurances that no doctor will be forced to participate, etc. But the history of assisted suicide laws – domestically in places like Oregon and Washington, or internationally in places like Canada and Belgium – demonstrates how unreliable those guardrails end up being. First they bend, then loosen, then erode.”

When I was a teenager, my mother told me we should never legalize abortion, because it would lead to euthanasia. She was more right than she knew. As with abortion, they use phrases like “dignity” and “choice,” but what it eventually boils down to is “convenience” and “cost.”

MELATONIN: A large new study revealed that adults with insomnia who used melatonin for a year or longer faced a significantly higher risk of developing heart failure when compared to insomniacs who did not use melatonin long-term.

NEW HAMPSHIRE: “Stacie” Marie Laughton, who was as the first elected transgender official in a state house of representatives, has pleaded guilty to sexual exploitation of children this week. The Democrat, who was born Barry Laughton Jr., had more than 10,000 text messages on his phone discussing and transferring photographs of children. At least four were sexually explicit images of children who appear to be approximately three to five years old. The texts also included explicit descriptions of sex with children. The sexual exploitation charge carries at least 15 years in prison, up to 30, and five years supervised release.

NO KINGS: CLICK https://www.youtube.com/shorts/dWyPW4hqMYg to watch one of my favorite scenes in any movie ever. The rider told police he was passing through town for a rodeo event at Garwood Arena in Columbiana this weekend. The situation ended without incident, but not before one of the responding officers climbed onto the bull for a photo (above).

PRAYER for OUR NATION: Dear Lord, We lift up those who are struggling to put food on the table this month. Provide for their needs and move the hearts of 5 Democrats to vote to end the shutdown. In Jesus’ Name, we pray. Amen.

SNAP: On Nov. 7, partial benefits went out to food stamp recipients and the Trump administration asked the U.S. Supreme Court to halt a judge’s order that requires the federal government to fully fund food stamps in November. SCOTUS issued a late-night order also on the seventh, giving the court time to consider the case.

Attorney General Pam Bondi posted, “A single district court in Rhode Island should not be able to seize center stage in the shutdown, seek to upend political negotiations that could produce swift political solutions for SNAP and other programs, and dictate its own preferences for how scarce federal funds should be spent.

The Hodge Twins posted, “Democrats are in TOTAL UPROAR after the Supreme Court drops a bombshell ruling that President Trump CAN’T just hand out SNAP benefits willy-nilly until Congress actually funds the government—for now, at least.

They’ve been screaming ‘No Kings in America!’ from the rooftops, but now they’re flipping out because they can’t force Trump to act like some all-powerful monarch pulling money out of thin air!

Hypocrisy at its finest—you seriously can’t make this level of clownery up.”

TEXAS: CLICK https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1707234043566603 to hear what a cop says truck drivers can and should do.

TRUMP: I saw this on Facebook – After a man fainted in the Oval Office today, President Trump personally called the man’s wife to calm her down.

Dr. Oz: “I saw that he was starting to fall back a bit and then fall forward. You know, that wobbliness is never a good scene, especially in the Oval Office where usually you have attention being, you know, standing upright. So I grabbed him—the most important thing you learn in medical school, but you should learn it if you’re not a doctor as well, is just get people to the ground safely. So I bear-hugged him, and with some colleagues who were standing next to me, Secretary Kennedy and others, we lowered him slowly to the ground. So far, he’s doing well.

“But I’ll tell you a story that speaks loudly to the kind of person the President is. So I wanted to speak to the wife, to let her know what was happening, but also comfort her. And the President saw me in the corner, and he came over and said, “Who are you talking to?” I said, “Sir, she’s pretty upset, I’m talking to the wife.” And he said, “Give me that phone.”

“He talked to her and got her much calmer than I could have ever done. And I just think he’s just a wonderful human being that he would take time. He could have gone up and done 10 other things, but he actually cared that the wife of a man who he’s never met before felt in a safer place. He remembers the forgotten folks.”

President Trump stayed where he was because it’s a security concern. Honestly, the Secret Service should’ve moved him out right away and leaving him there was a mess up by them. Earlier this year, the former White House press secretary became the highest-ranking openly queer, French-born black woman with a hyphenated surname to publicly renounce the Democratic Party for being mean to Joe Biden. She is the only black female lesbian immigrant to publish a book about her time in the Biden administration. It is the worst political memoir ever written in the history of the English language.” You can read the rest at the link.

In better news, Texans approved Proposition 15, which amends the state constitution to enshrine parents’ right “to exercise care, custody, and control of the parent’s child, including the right to make decisions concerning the child’s upbringing” and the responsibility “to nurture and protect the parent’s child.” Texans also passed a ballot measure that disallows noncitizens from voting in all statewide elections, including local races.

DAILY PRAYER: Dear Lord, May You be on our minds, on our lips, and in our hearts. In Jesus’ Name, we pray. Amen.

BIOPHILIA: [17:18] – Fascinating applications of psychological research to architecture and interior design. Several of the things she mentions explain why one of my favorite things is to sit on our deck and watch the leaves on our big basswood tree flutter in the breeze.

BREAST CANCER: Breast cancer accounts for almost a third of all new cancers among women in the United States every year. A huge new study entitled “Hormonal Contraceptive Formulations and Breast Cancer Risk in Adolescents and Premenopausal Women” has just been published in JAMA Oncology. Researchers who examined data from more than two million women from 2006 to 2019 found that thos who used hormonal contraceptives (i.e., birth control pills, implants, injections, and intrauterine systems) were at higher risk of developing breast cancer. They also found there was a “statistically significant greater risk” from progestin-only contraceptives as compared to combined formulations.

DEMOCRATS: Damani Bryant Felder posted these from his in box. Based on this small sample, it appears the most racist Democrats are white.

EVERYDAY HEROES: “I parked my car in an outdoor lot. I forgot to roll up my window, because my mind, as always, must’ve been on other things. I came back a long time later — many, many, many days later. Look what a perfect stranger had done for me, in my absence.”

FOOD STAMPS: The Trump administration has announced that food stamps will be partially funded using all $5 billion of the contingency fund the USDA has on hand. It costs about $9 billion to fully fund SNAP each month. There is a lot of really negative stuff about SNAP beneficiaries on the ‘net right now. I’d much prefer to see these sneering types put their energies into praying, donating to food pantries, and voting for representatives who will use our tax dollars responsibly. After Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait, my husband was put out of work for a year. I am disabled and we had 3 young children. He did anything and everything he could to find work, but while he looked, we all NEEDED to eat.

PRAYER for OUR NATION: Dear Lord, Please sweeten the hearts and minds of all Americans. Fill us with both generosity and gratitude. In Jesus’ Name, we pray. Amen.

SECRET SANTA: [7:51] – A local Secret Santa is giving $1 million to deserving people in eastern Idaho this holiday season. Every day, from now until the end of the year, the East Idaho News elves will be delivering gifts from Secret Santa and we’ll be sharing the surprise videos here.

SCOTT ADAMS: The cartoonist famous for “Dilbert” has metastasized prostate cancer. He was approved for a new drug, but something went wrong with the scheduling. He reached out to President Trump, who got him an appointment for yesterday.
