When Make Believe Meets Real

Jay Austin (vegan) and Lauren Geoghegan (vegetarian) decided they were wasting their lives working and quit their DC office jobs to embark on a year-long journey to see the world.

“I’ve grown tired of spending the best hours of my day in front of a glowing rectangle, of coloring the best years of my life in swaths of grey and beige,” Austin wrote on his blog before he quit. “I’ve missed too many sunsets while my back was turned. Too many thunderstorms went unwatched, too many gentle breezes unnoticed.”

MASCOT UPDATE: No word yet on the truck repair, but they are having fun relaxing with friends and exploring the Left Coast of Washington State. Bunny wore the Super Hero cape her Grammy sewed to the zoo. And there was a rare sighting of the elusive Daddy Buzz during a nature walk.

MASCOTS: The Buzzers were planning to enjoy a few days just kicking back with friends and family in Washington State, but it looks like the replacement fuel pump is faulty. Bad news: Their trip plans are FUBAR as they have yet another 5 days of sitting still while waiting on part delivery and installation. Good news: All repairs and cost of vehicle rentals are covered by the warranty and they’ve been given a reprieve on the “hard deadline” they had for arriving at their new home. Continue reading →

Ben Shapiro offered to donate $10,000 to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s campaign if she would debate him. That’s all she had to do to raise a substantial amount of money, and if she’s truly as confident as she claims to be in her ideas and political beliefs then surely this would be a super easy offer to accept. Unless of course, she knows she’s full of it and running out of bumper sticker catch phrases. So how did she decline without losing face with her base? SHE PLAYED THE GENDER CARD, of course.
