Gosnell was not an aberration

DELAWARE

Three women testified before the Delaware State Senate this week about the Gosnell-style conditions at the Delaware Planned Parenthood abortuary where they were employed, which they describe as a “meat-market-style, assembly-line” doing for-profit abortions without regard for patient safety.

Employees assisted with surgical abortions despite having no medical credentials, prior health-care work experience or on-the-job training. Record-keeping was disorganized and patients were often not notified of positive STD lab results. Patients were put on operating tables still wet with the blood from the previous patients, then operated on with unsterilized equipment by a doctor too lazy to wear sterile gloves. The doctor, being paid per procedure, rushed patients in and out, sang rude songs to them and played Peek-A-Boo during procedures. He also slapped them and put them on the street before they had recovered from anesthesia.

Complaints about bad conditions made by these employees to higher-ups were ignored, which left these women with no option but to go public. All three women describe themselves as pro-choice and concerned only with making abortions in Delaware safer for women. For their efforts, the pro-aborts have labeled them woman-haters and liars.

News Updates

Post-abortion syndrome

The Journal of Psychiatry and Clinical Neurosciences published a summary of 31 studies comparing women’s psychological well-being after delivering the baby, having a miscarriage, or procuring an abortion.

The conclusion of the authors is that the risk of mental disorders (depression, PTSD, etc.) was highest for abortion and lowest for childbirth. This was true even when the pregnancy had been unplanned. In nine studies that compared just abortion and miscarriage, short-term anxiety and depression were higher in the miscarriage group, while long-term anxiety and depression were higher in the abortion group.

IOW, there’s no scientific evidence for the pro-abort claim that abortion has no psychological or psychiatric consequences. If the left cared about women for real, they’d insist that everyone considering abortion have this information before making a decision and those who choose to abort be provided with a list of symptoms to watch for and mental health numbers to call should help be needed.

Ariel Castro

After initially pleading not guilty to a 977-count indictment that includes charges related to kidnapping women and holding them in the basement of his home, where he raped them and assaulted them to the point of causing abortions, Ariel Castro has accepted a plea deal to avoid the death penalty. The plea means the victims and their families will be spared a long trial, having to endure the grisly details of Castro’s lengthy and horrific crimes.

Women deserve better than abortion

The North Carolina State Senate passed a bill 32-13 that would provide more to help pregnant women carry to term and end taxpayer financing of abortions. The governor says he’ll sign it into law.

2013_07 24 Father Lolo and Eucharistic Miracle

July 24, 2013: A Mexican priest, Father Jose Dolores Castellanos Gudino, is claiming that, after hearing the voice of God, the host which he had just consecrated began to bleed. The bloody host was available for adoration for some time at Mary Mother of the Church located in Colonia Jardines de la Paz (Guadalajara, Mexico). The Archbishop has ordered the Host to be reposed and for both it and Father Lolo (as he is known to his parishioners) to be examined.

INCREDIBLE crowd estimates at WYD

July 28, 2013: THREE MILLION! That is the number the Associated Press is reporting for the crowd that attended Pope Francis’ final Mass at World Youth Day in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

I went to Mass with 10,000 people once. It was overwhelming. I can’t begin to imagine what worshiping with 3,000,000 would be like! And these are YOUNG people from around the world … the very demographic for whom the Left claims the Catholic Church holds nothing of interest. Wow.

2013_07 28 WYD crowd beach for final Mass

July 27, 2013: Hundreds of thousands of young people gathered on Copacabana beach for a prayer vigil Saturday night. Many stayed and slept on the white sand in anticipation of Pope Francis’ final Mass in the morning.

2013_07 27 WYD prayer vigil on beach

Nearly the entire 2.5 mile crescent of the beach overflowed with people, some of them taking an early morning dip in the Atlantic and others tossing t-shirts, flags and soccer jerseys into the pontiff’s open-sided car as he drove by.

Francis worked the crowd, kissing babies, taking a sip of mate tea handed up to him and catching gifts on the fly. Even the normally stern-faced Vatican bodyguards let smiles slip as they jogged alongside his car, caught up in the enthusiasm of the crowd.

Those who brought sleeping bags are being encouraged to give them to the homeless before they leave. This is in keeping with the pontiff’s WYD message to go out and spread our faith “to the fringes of society,” to the poor and to those who seem the most indifferent.

Pope Francis himself journeyed into the poorest and most dangerous section of the city to walk the talk.

2009_01 20 Liberalism - A mental disorder

Wendy Davis’s one day pro-abortion filibuster in the Texas state senate was given THREE TIMES more big media coverage than the six-weeks-long trial of late term abortionist and serial killer Kermit Gosnell.

It was recently revealed that back in 2007, NBA player J.J. Redick and model Vanessa Lopez negotiated a legal contract in which Redick agreed to continue dating Lopez for another year in exchange for Lopez aborting their baby. And “Redick” (not Reddick) does appear to be the correct spelling of his name. I didn’t make that up for a joke, though really, I could have, all things considered.

Pro-Life News

The BroChoice movement says abortion should be legal, without limits and without apology for the very simple reason that they want to have consequence-free sex without limits and without apology. Pro-Life men are fighting back.

Young Men Speaking Out for Life [3:49]

Word has reached us of yet another victim of China’s brutal one-child-or-else policy. On July 9, Li Fengfei was 18 weeks pregnant when local Family Planning Officials dragged to their office, beat her, knocking out one of her front teeth, then forced her fingerprint onto the abortion consent form and injected toxins into her uterus. This week, Ms. Li is near death and her baby – now dead – remains in her womb.

Legal doesn't make it right

The Planned Parenthood abortion clinic in Manville, New Jersey, is closing this summer. They declined to comment as to why.

Raise your hand

When a black couple attempted to rent booth space at this year’s 104th National NAACP conference in Florida, plenty of exhibit space remained open. But when NAACP found out they were conservatives, they were refused a booth. The NAACP is allegedly about promoting equality of rights of all persons, but in reality they are fanatically left-wing and pro-abortion.

July 19, 2013: Today, a federal court granted Hobby Lobby a preliminary injunction against the HHS abortion-drug mandate. The injunction prevents the Obama administration from enforcing the mandate against the Christian company, which does not want to be compelled to pay for birth control or drugs that may cause abortions.

This victory comes less than a month after a landmark decision by the full 10th Circuit Court of Appeals, which ruled 5-3 that Hobby Lobby can exercise religion under the First Amendment and is likely to win its case against the mandate. That decision helped the Christian craft store not be force to pay fines while its lawsuit continues.

“The tide has turned against the HHS mandate,” said Kyle Duncan, General Counsel with the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, and lead attorney for Hobby Lobby. “This is a major victory for not only Hobby Lobby, but the religious liberty of all for-profit businesses.”

Media Bias on Parade

2013_07 13 MEDIA BIAS ON PARADE

AP’s coverage of the Texas protests ignored the many ugly incidents by Pro-Aborts, as well as President Barack Obama’s tweet in support of the protesters’ grisly cause.

The Texas bill, which the Left decried as all-out war on women, would ban abortions after 20 weeks and require abortion clinics to meet basic health and safety standards.

Oh the horror. And here we thought they wanted abortions to be rare and safe. ::snort::

BREAKING: Pro-Life court victory

The Illinois Supreme Court unanimously upheld a parental notification law enacted way back in 1995.

Thomas More Society, the pro-life legal team based in Illinois that has been pushing enforcement of this law, has posted a synopsis of this incredibly drawn out court battle.

The ACLU was the first to sue to block the law, later joined by the giant Hope Clinic abortion mill in Granite City – conveniently located close to the Missouri border.

The Illinois Parental Notice of Abortion Act of 1995 is scheduled to go into effect in 35 days. It isn’t perfect. It allows for notification of not only one parent but also “a person over 21 years of age who is the parent, grandparent, step-parent living in the household, or legal guardian.”

In the law a minor is considered anyone under 18, so the consenter could easily be the baby daddy or a parent of the baby daddy. (Pro-Life activists say they see a LOT of girls pressured into abortion by the mother of the baby daddy.)

This loose verbiage isn’t great. But it is way better than nothing.

Americans OPPOSE post-20 week abortion 2 to 1

New Poll: Do you support or oppose banning abortions after 20-weeks of pregnancy?

59% SUPPORT vs. 30% OPPOSE

This poll was commissioned by the liberal Huffington Post.

The Face of the Aborted

Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards and her pro-abortion friends took to Capitol Hill today to rally for keeping abortions legal right up to the day of birth. Sen. Al Franken of Minnesota and Rep Rosa DeLauro of Connecticut joined them. According to Richards, “It is very rare for a woman to need to terminate a pregnancy after 20 weeks.” It is definitely less common than before 20 weeks, but at more than 1 per day in Texas alone, I wouldn’t call that exactly “rare.” Would you? Richards also refused to respond when asked if it was wrong to kill a post-20-week fetus who was healthy. The Pro-Aborts try to make out like these late termers are only for severe medical problems, but the Pro-Life movement knows it is also done for absurdly casual and frivolous reasons.

2012_08 08 I don't want no more girls

900 families asked for the chance to adopt a baby with Down Syndrome whose life was at risk of abortion. Pro-Abortion writer sneered at this, calling it “coercion” of the birth mother to carry a “nonviable fetus” who would lead a “terrible life” to term. According to her, “anti-abortion folks care more about fetuses with fairytale narratives than actual babies.” Yeah, right. This would be why they were all begging for the right to ADOPT this child. For LIFE. Sheesh.

Majority of Americans are Pro-Life

TWO recent polls demonstrate that the MAJORITY of AMERICANS believe the UNBORN have a RIGHT to LIFE.

MAY 2013

2013_05 GALLUP Abortion poll

MARCH 2013

53%* of Americans are Pro-Life:

  • Abortion should be prohibited in all circumstances: 11%
  • Abortion should be legal only to save the life of the mother: 14%
  • Abortion should be legal only to save the life of the mother, or in cases of rape or incest: 28%
  • NOTE: Only one to three percent of all abortions in the U.S. are for life, rape, incest.

30%* of Americans are Pro-Choice:

  • Abortion should be legal for any reason but not after the first three months of pregnancy: 20%
  • Abortion should be legal for any reason but not after the first 6 months of pregnancy: 10%
  • NOTE: The large body of scientific and medical research indicates that by at least 20 weeks, unborn children are capable of feeling the excruciating pain of abortion. Once this fact is explained to them, a significant number of Pro-Choice Americans choose to support the Pain-Capable Unborn Protection Acts that seek to outlaw these “torture until death” procedures. According to the CDC, approximately 1.27 babies are tortured to death per day in Texas alone, a state that is widely considered to be largely Pro-Life.

12%* of Americans are Pro-Abortion:

  • Abortion should be legal for any reason at any time during a woman’s pregnancy: 12%
  • NOTE: The official Democrat Party Platform on abortion not only takes this extremist, minority opinion, but goes even further to demand that all Americans PAY for abortions, regardless of their religious beliefs or conscience objections.

*National Poll of All Americans conducted by the Polling Company February 28-March 3, 2013 with 1,000 respondents and a 3.1% margin of error.
